Re: New iPhones?

Re: New iPhones?

This is what Microtransactions were made for. $.25 per call. Just for the convenience of not having to choose your victim. I'll be rich!

Re: New iPhones?

Ooh I had a thought free version calls nearest participating taxi service. Paid version has Taxi, designated victim, random victim modes.

Re: New iPhones?

I would think it'd be the other way around. You'd have to pay to get a Taxi closer to you. And each time you launch it gives you a free Random option and a paid Close option.

Damn! If only I could program CocoaTouch. I'd be right on that.

"Drunk Dialer" only $.99!

I won a book on iPhone development at a MacWorld party this past January...
I'm going to have a look into this.
I imagine, comparatively speaking, writing an app to pick a number at random from your contacts and dial out wouldn't be too difficult.

Re: New iPhones?

As long as it can load all your contacts numbers into an array, it's a simple random number between 1 and the number of items (Or 0 if it's zero based and the number minus 1 which I assume arrays are in Cocoa) and then use the SDK's built-in dial functions.

Re: New iPhones?

Set up a 900 number that charges 1500$ a minute, and have it automatically call it on the 4th random dial.  I'll take 10 percent of your profits for the idea.

Re: New iPhones?

So at $1500 a minute, minus the 30%, and you get $105 per minute...

Yeah, I could live with that.

And the great thing is they'll be drunk!  So they'll stay on the phone for ages if we pretend to be a lonely woman who needs... comforting.

Re: New iPhones?

Wait till WWDC in June, if they don't actually ship phones they will definitely announce availability. If you buy now you are guaranteed to have out of date iPhones within the next 6 months.

Re: New iPhones?

Yeah, wait for June. It's proven to be the general update season for iPhones for the past few years. And with WWDC continually becoming more geared towards the iPhone OS it only make sense.

Re: New iPhones?

I'm thinking of getting one now and waiting till this summer before getting the other four. When the new ones come out I will pass the old one down and keep a new one for myself. Cold hearted but hey, I'm the boss.
