Hello I'm a Mac, and the girl I like is a PC.
How could I convince her that Apple makes products that are generally better than Microsoft's? I am talking from Macs to cellphones and music players.

Drop that zero and get yourself a hero.
...or just get over it. With time she'll see the error of her ways.

I'd say leave this ad lady alone. Give it a year or two of good solid use and I'd be genuinely shocked if that machine is even in slightly good condition both operationally and cosmetically. At that point, she can go computer shopping once more. Perhaps she can buy my old PowerMacG4 that I took to goodwill last month for a good bargain.

Re: Hello I'm a Mac, and the girl I like is a PC.
You DO KNOW that Windows (uugh!) can run on Macs, right?? and also MS Office (double uugh!!).
I say let her deal with her PC and virii problems and all those worms and trojan horses... all while you work and use your Mac with a big smile on your face. Nothing convinces a girl more than the hard facts she sees with her own eyes.
I know your IP.

Re: Hello I'm a Mac, and the girl I like is a PC.
I've learned that the only way to really get Windows users to use a Mac is to be a Mac user and use it around them. Don't try to force your beliefs on them. Casually do your work. Show off stuff the OS can do, but don't blatantly say "Hey, look what I can do!" People respond better when you're not forcing something in their face.
It needs to be there. Doing its thing.
Don't even MENTION the whole PC and Mac thing. Treat it as if it's natural. You use a Mac. So what if she doesn't. Focus on her other aspects. Not what OS she uses.

I'm actually going to take your advise. It makes sense that the human brain's neurons may be programed to respond better to a subtle approach instead of being forced into thinking a certain way. It maddens me when my parents try that. I had not thought of that Jasoco.

Or god forbid if she is comfortable being on a pc and not worrying about it and maybe you could concentrate on something else, like her birthday?

You can always try what I did. Buy her a Mac. Due to job software requirements not a 100% Mac user (but getting there. The home PC is gone and despite having talked about running windows on her Intel iMac has never gotten around to doing it since everything she NEEDS for home use is available for the Mac and work stuff is on her workplace supplied Windows laptop).

Years of experience. The forceful approach just makes you seem.. demanding and annoying. It's all about subtlety and just "being there". The best advertisement is not in your face. It's the stuff you barely notice. Oddly enough.
Though as someone said, she might like Windows. Maybe she doesn't have problems with it. If so, let her have her Windows. If you like her enough, you will accept it. So it'll be a two OS house, providing that you even get together. Which is so far down the road it's not even funny.

It might come as a shocker to some here but if there is someone reasonably unstupid at the KB Windows boxes can be just as trouble free as Macs.
I spend no more time futzing with my Wife's PC than I do with my Mac.
For the most part the old reliability issues were resolved for both platforms when MS launched XP and Apple launched OXS. Compared to 10 years ago the difference between the two platforms is trivial relative to what it used to be.

A two OS house. Are you talking about marriage. Honestly how old does anyone around here think I am. Don't be shy I want to read your thoughts about me. Please, all of you, make a wild or educated guess about my age and write it down on the forum.

Every girl I've been with has started with a PC then ended with a Mac, which lets me know when it's time to go

Re: Hello I'm a Mac, and the girl I like is a PC.
we have a 2 OS house.
my Mac and her PC/Xp Pro sit side by side and our displays are about 24 inches apart.
we have zero probs with it.
itsa computer. try talking to her about what is real.
if a different OS is a major prob.. you really need antivirus and have her files deleted.
or perhaps she should delete yours.

I'm not sure I can take the topic seriously at all - gauging a person's worth & relationship compatibility on their choice of OS?

Re: Hello I'm a Mac, and the girl I like is a PC.
The reason I stated this post was because she and I had an argument about an Ipod. It's a long story, but to make it short: The biology teacher asked which is better the Zune or the Ipod and she said the Zune was better. I went the other way around and said the Ipod was better. After class she asked me why I preferred the Ipod.

Trust me, your argument has NOTHING to do with the music players themselves...

I don't care how old you are, the point is, as humans, the ultimate goal of dating is marriage and living together. Doesn't matter if you're 13 or 30. Also notice I said "so far down the road it's not funny".
Also, I'm 30. I'd consider myself lucky to find a girl that even used Windows just because at least she'd be computer literate.

Pretty much everyone I know is computer literate; that is not really of any worry to me. The problem isn't whether she uses Microsoft but that she shouldn't get mad each time I pull out my Ipod.
