Because I Can't Say this Amongst My Friends
It has to have been about 6 years ago that we played at their wedding, and they were oh, so in love. Sadly, they are now getting divorced and today her Facebook status is, "nailing his balls to the wall and loving every minute of it."
He's the one who wanted to stay together for the sake of the children. He's the one who wanted to go to counseling when things started to go bad. He's certainly not the one who slept around when he got bored. So why does he deserve to have his balls nailed to the wall?
I used to like both of them, now I think she's a bitch. And I feel sorry for their children who will have to live with a petty, vindictive mother.
It's going to be really difficult to have a polite conversation with her next time I see her.

Then don't.
I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

That's sweet!
But since you don't know the couple involved (but probably know some just like them), this is a safe place to vent a bit.

Re: Because I Can't Say this Amongst My Friends
I know a couple that I am afraid will be like them.
I can see it coming.

Just gimme Miss ball-nailer's Facebook address. I'll "friend" her outta the blue. The ensuing pornographic chat transcripts will no-doubt come in handy during the divorce proceedings.

Yup. It's even worse with military families. They don't ever seem to give custody to the father if he's active. Which I can understand, but I wish they could at least revisit it after the enlistment. Oh well.
Divorce sucks.

Re: Because I Can't Say this Amongst My Friends
dunno about NC and the other states, but in TX, I was informed that I could challenge custody/decree orders every 12 months.
the sad part is that it's like anything else in the divorce..
expensive.

Re: Because I Can't Say this Amongst My Friends
Another friend, who is a home appraiser,* told me about a divorce case he got dragged into once that had legal fees in excess of $400,000! That's the last time he let himself get involved in a court case, now if people want him to appear in court he tells them his wage is $1500 per hour. No one has asked him to go to court since.
*A home appraiser comes in and tells you the current market value of your home. If they are dragged into court for a divorce case they get questioned about every square millimeter of the couple's home by both lawyers.
