Abortion attitude shift - Gallup
http://www.gallup.com/poll/118399/More- … -Time.aspx
Lots of interesting graphs and stats. The upshot of it all:
With the first pro-choice president in eight years already making changes to the nation's policies on funding abortion overseas, expressing his support for the Freedom of Choice Act, and moving toward rescinding federal job protections for medical workers who refuse to participate in abortion procedures, Americans -- and, in particular, Republicans -- seem to be taking a step back from the pro-choice position. However, the retreat is evident among political moderates as well as conservatives.
It is possible that, through his abortion policies, Obama has pushed the public's understanding of what it means to be "pro-choice" slightly to the left, politically. While Democrats may support that, as they generally support everything Obama is doing as president, it may be driving others in the opposite direction.
The gross heathenism of civilization has generally destroyed nature, and poetry, and all that is spiritual. -John Muir-

So what the graph shows is that at least 53% of people do not post on internet message boards?

The is an extremely left leaning board.

There are several left-leaning posters here (the majority, obviously). This is not an "extremely left-leaning" board.

I dunno, the moderate crowd is decreasing while what was a 10 point gap between All and Nothing, now Nothing leads by 1 point. 11 point swing in a short period of time is a big deal, potentially.

Supreme Court nominees only need a 40% negative to fail.

For the record, while I believe Roe v Wade was an incorrect decision, I do not like nominated judges to be rejected from having a vote over single item issues.
A judges position on abortion should not be why the senate decides to deny a confirmation vote.
While technically it is the right of the senate to reject a nominee on that single issue, I believe it goes against the spirit of the nomination process.
Unless the nominee has a history of bad decisions and questionable moral clarity, the nominee should at least be given a confirmation vote.
If you don't like his or her position on several issues, then don't vote to confirm. But don't waste the Senate's time trying to block the vote from ever taking place via filibuster.

Wow, that has remained pretty damn consistent for years. That's impressive data. I guess there's no reason to think that this will change. You're right. Looks like this year is possibly simply an outlier.

you can agree with it, or disagree with it, and not have the government involved.
the republicans and democrats have yet to figure this out, yet.

It means that if your woman gets pregnant she's required to have an abortion. What's to be confused about?

The pro-choice position would be the one that has government out of the issue.
Seems to me a libertarian ought to be able to puzzle that one out all by his lonesome.

I think NokX is really an anarchist.
Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.
