How should we price Snow Leopard? We won’t price it at $129, because we want all Leopard users to upgrade. SO we are pricing Snow Leopard at the incredible price of $29.

Whats this nonsense about replacing the express slot with a SD card?

Not sure about 17" MacBook Pro. Apple likes to make buyers pay for extra features in packages.
That is the stupidest smurfing idea ever. All MacBook Pro are now becoming an equivalent to cheap PC netbooks. What can you do with a SD card slot, read sd cards. I own and use 3 34 express cards at the moment. A firewire 400 card (after Apple eliminated it), Compact flash card reader (Canon Digital SRL), and a Sprint 3G wireless card (internet on the move)

I'm glad FireWire's back but ditching the expansion slot seems pretty stupid. Maybe if enough people complain it'll return in the next product revision.

Wow, Apple is expensive. $700 for a Express card slot.

Re: WWDC June 2009 - Official thread
As much as I would prefer having an ExpressCard slot instead of the SD Card slot - I love having options - in truth I've only used my card slot on my 5-year old Powerbook to add firewire when the on-board firewire died. (and I didn't really need that since it had FW800 too.
If I'm really honest, in truth I'll probably find the SD card slot more handy, since I use my camera all the time. Still, if I had a vote I'd prefer the ExpressCard.
I believe in Karma. That means I can do bad things to people all day long and I assume they deserve it.

I hate these 30 minute software commercials that lead into the actual announcement that people care about.
