kernel panic -fsck

Actually it may be worse. Migration assistant emptied my emac into my new imac- i mean there was nothing left.
So i did this command/s at startup to get to unix.
it looked good for a few seconds, but before i could type fsck -y, the secreen changed and it said
"no debuggers configured/ dumping debug information/"/ some numbers, a little more text, then finally

kernel version
   Darwin kernel version 6.8

panic: we re hanging here

does anyone know what this means? i guess i just wonder if "we are hanging here" might mean something is happening, if i wait long enough.

thanks

Re: kernel panic -fsck

Nope, that's a straight up kernel panic.  You have to reboot and try to fsck again.  (Actually, you should use /sbin/fsck -fy)
If you can't get past that, it's probably easier anyway to boot from an install disc and use the DiskUtility GUI to repair the drive.  In fact, I'd probably skip that entirely; wipe the drive, reinstall, and try the migration again.
