Griffiths' Workflow Deficient
In the August issue (p. 62), Bob Griffiths Automator Workflow to "Batch Process File" is OK for an illustration of what can be done with Automator, but it wouldn't do what he says. The third Rename action would operate on both remaining hyphens and result in the following: 03] – 20-2008 [Thu] – Online Review.txt
Odd, since he wrote it as if he actually tried it.

Yes, there are two. But I hesitate to describe them here until I get over my disabling embarrassment: the article was in MacWorld, not Mac|Life.
But just in case you knew that and really wanted the solution(s), either replace the second hyphen with a placeholder and restore at the end. Or, replace the '] – Thu' that results with a hyphen.
