Mech 5 announcement soon?
Voodoo Extreme has posted a short teaser trailer of a mech stomping in front of what appears to be a white Lexus LF-A in the middle of a war torn city. The video is titled "MechWarrior 5 (PC) teaser trailer" and is approximately 9 seconds long.
VE hints that Piranha Games will develop the new game.
3 trailers, actually. And... w00ts!

I'm just sitting here, thinking about how long some games take in development.
If I need to upgrade my computer for this (and I hope I do) I will.

Of course, with my luck, it will be a new Heavy Gear...

Awesome! I've been thirsting for a new Mech game for a while. I tried Armored Core 4 but I didn't really like it. I still remember hooking up two joysticks to my Power Mac 8500 to play MechWarrior 2.

Well AC was nice in the beginning but then they just rolled out sequel after sequel and really didn't change much. Last one I got was for PS2 and literally I was shocked how little it had changed since the original. I really won't buy another AC unless they completely revolutionize it.

MechWarrior announced
MechWarrior fans rejoice! Piranha Games has teamed up with series co-creator Jordan Weisman to deliver a new MechWarrior title. In an exclusive interview with IGN, Jordan Weisman and Piranha's Russ Bullock discuss the game, which has been under development since last Oct. The game is based on Epic's Unreal Engine 3 and will sport a single-player campaign, as well as support for 4-player co-op and multiplayer. No release date has been set, and the dev team is still looking for a publisher. The game will be released for the PC and Xbox 360.
