Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone found a fix?

It surely has nothing to do with OS X itself. What are the specs of your computer. HD video will choke most computers under about 1.25 GHz and at least a gig of RAM is an absolute must as well.

I was capturing 640 x 480 so I didn't believe that it was my desktop (a 400 MHz Power Mac w/ a 1.2GHz ugrade card). I tried the movie on an Intel MacBookPro and it played fine.
