Madoff starts 150-year sentence at NC prison

So what are the odds that he manages to serve at least a tenth of his sentence? Or do you think someone will give him a pardon?

I wonder if he'll be released for poor health in a few years.

That's a rare occurrence down America way, isn't it? I mean they don't refrain from executing retarded teenagers, why should they be nice to old fraudsters?

We get sentimental about old people.

Sometimes.

Besides, adolecents are so irritating.

Something tells me he won't have to worry too much about being literally raped in the manner by which he figuratively raped so many...

In 2002 the supreme court made it clear that it is unconstitutional to execute a person who is mentally retarded.

Just in case you weren't aware.

Sorry. I don't share the man on man rape fetish that is so common in the USA.

I think it's sufficient that he's going to be in a minimal environment, without the freedom to do what he wishes, and without the creature comforts he has come to expect.

Sorry. I don't share the man on man rape fetish that is so common in the USA.

What if the prison could provide a mechanical substitute, such as this: http://www.kenstwistedmind.com/a_Hootchie.gif (NSFW)

Sorry, but it's reality. So I've read and seen on tv; it's pretty common. So you implying it is some kind of "fetish" of mine as opposed to reality is a stupid hypothesis at best. Do you understand now? And if you think the guards will not turn a blind eye you are naive at best.

He probably doesn't like that it occurs and that it's so favorably viewed by most people.

It's sickening is what it is.  The cavalier attitudes displayed by nearly every American about this subject are downright horrifying.

What does it being "reality" have to do with hoping that it occurs?

Madoff is probably not going to suffer physical assault in his medium security prison.  Others who have harmed far less people get treated much worse.

Re: Madoff starts 150-year sentence at NC prison

The rape that occurs in out prison system isn't something we should be applauding. We should be ashamed of it.

A good number of the people who go IN to prison eventually come out.

To me it doesn't seem like a great thing to have any number of people -in particular men- coming out of an instiitution with that manner of experience.
I would think it would have lasting psychological/emotional effects.
Unfortunately many people come out of our "correctional" facilities just as unskilled and uneducated as they went in, plus they are meaner, more despareate and damaged.
No wonder it is a revolving door. (and an expensive one as it is.)

Are you kidding? The insinuation was that this is a fetish of mine. (Obviously this needs to be repeated.) I simply stated a reality in which I have no sympathy for this scum-bag. I'm sure if he stole your life savings you would feel differently. All I'm doing is empathizing w/the victims as opposed to the purpatrator scum. Or does that cross the liberal line? If so, there's a good example of why I'm an Independent.

Re: Madoff starts 150-year sentence at NC prison

Wishing for someone's brutal rape, or even being ambivalent about its occurrence, crosses the line of decency and humanity.
