mis-bahaving ad
I'm not sure this is what you intended or want to allow - but this monster sized add is covering content.

Re: mis-bahaving ad
I use Linux.
Normally I have NoScript enabled w/ maclife white listed (thus the advertisers are blocked from executing scripts) - but I disabled noscript as I was surfing around various instructional javascript sites, so rather than temporarily white list east one ...
btw - doesn't only happen on the bottom like that photo.
Also happens on the top.

Oh good, I'm not the only one who noticed this. It's very annoying, 'cause all you have to do is accidentally mouse over it, and then the ad expands to block content, and there's nothing you can click on to collapse the ad!
That's just rude and unprofessional behavior on the advertiser's part. If Microsoft wasn't such an awesome company, and if they didn't make such great products, I'd say let's boycott them!

Re: mis-bahaving ad
By the way, it isn't a misbehaving ad. It seems to be the new trend in ads. My pop up blocker doesn't even block those. Of course, it doesn't block the Netflix pop under ads, either.

to me the neon colored fluorescent bulbs taking over the whole background and the bamboo slider crap doing the same thing was MUCH more irritating then a box opening. IMHO

This really should be looked at.
Hasn't been much issue for me. Minor annoyance.
Most close by an 'x,' others will if you do a quick switch to another tab/window, or minimize the one you're in (with the ad).
I've had them come back as soon as the cursor got close enough to it.

The close link does not appear to render at all in Safari. I have had to close the tab each time I've encountered one of these ads.

None of the above are working for me in Safari 4.0.2

Nothing like having Microsoft ads that won't work on mac browsers at a mac site.

Re: mis-bahaving ad
Looks like they fixed the ad. It now moves the page content down so that it isn't rendering on top of anything and it has a close box in Safari.

I just moused over that thing in Firefox and it also did not expand like it had been. Does this mean somebody's actually listening to us!?

Re: mis-bahaving ad
I spoke too soon. I thought something had changed, 'cause I moused over the ad once and nothing happened. I now know this is because I'd already clicked on a link, and Firefox was in the process of getting ready to replace the current page with the one that was about to load. I did try to duplicate the result, but every time I reloaded the page, some other ad was there. Now that I've got the MS Office ad back, the same thing is happening as before.
