Not the biggest fan of this topic, but fact is, there is an item that might be worth a few responses. A little surprised no one posted this earlier.

The next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is entitled "The Ballad of Gay Tony"- not a full game, but a new 'episode' of the current release.

Age gate

One wonders how/how comfortable the game's demographic to this point will be playing as the titular character, how good sales will be... I wonder if some Sims-like play might make up a substantial fraction of it (a sizeable number of Sims players seem to derive pleasure from torturing their virtual creations). I can imagine a fair number of homophobes/haters playing primarily to torture Tony in diverse ways.

Anyhoo... coupla trailers, some art etc. available. More coming as the 10/29 release date approaches. More info at various other sites.

I for one will not being buying it ... and this is coming from some one who owns just about every GTA

This sounds like it makes you really angry!  You might take a moment to consider why that is.  Most straight men I know don't waste any time worrying about what gay guys are doing.

By the way--heterosexuals make their sexual orientation known, repeatedly, on a daily basis, in nearly every aspect of society.

Because I find Homosexuality wrong and frankly disgusting. Here in middle america it's not that common to be seen, so thankfully I don't have to deal with it very much in the "real" world. I am not going to pay money for something that is going to offend me that much.

I don't go around worrying about what gays are doing. It's when they start doing gay things around me that I have the problem ... like I said before "keep it to you own god damn self".

Right, the prevalence of homosexuality tends to vary by region.  Because that makes sense.

Re: Xbox 360: More gay than ever before!

Honestly, it really doesn't matter why I feel the way I do about gays. Bat posed the question if it will effect sales. I posted that it will effect my purchase. No amount of arguing or debating is going to change how I feel.

Worse, I suspect if someone told him just how many of his neighbors are gay; he'd probably have to move. I believe he might be safe from gaydom in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, or Afghanistan - and the real-estate's probably pretty cheap as well.

What would make you think that there are any less in Ohio that elsewhere?

Granted, they may not be as happy in Ohio (who is?) or they may not be 'out,' but they are most certainly there.

This is not to mention that you don't particularly strike me as someone that anyone is in a rush to confide in regarding their homosexuality.

Re: Xbox 360: More gay than ever before!

WHAT THE smurf DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND ABOUT ME NOT GIVING A smurf ABOUT POEPLE BEING GAY IF I DON'T HAVE TO SEE OR DEAL WITH IT?

Around here it isn't very common to see gay people. (at least being overly open about it). Around here you don't see gay pride events... Around here you normally don't see 2 people of the same sex kissing ... every so often holding hands maybe.

They are out there ...So smurfing what ... maybe they are hiding in my smurfing bushes. ... I don't care if they are there (or here) as long as they aren't telling me about or showing it in public.

Why are you screaming?  Relax.

You made the claim:

Here in middle america it's not that common

Did you not?  Is no one allowed to challenge that factual assertion?  Because it's false.

See my edit.  You claimed that homosexuality is "not that common" in "middle America."  I pointed out that this isn't true.  Is that out of bounds?

I'm fine with people being opposed to 'public displays of affection' generally (even though I suspect this is only directed at homosexuals).

However, I'm not going to keep my sexuality a secret (by not speaking of my partner at work, for example) just to prevent some from being uncomfortable.
