Did my bullsmurf detector just go off?

I dunno 'bout that, but sure seems like your 'gaydar' is set to DefCon 11 and ThreatLevel SevereQueer.

Re: Xbox 360: More gay than ever before!

Why so much concern for what consenting adults are doing in private?

Do you believe people should be prevented from marrying based on the specific type of sexual activity that the couple intends to engage in while in private?  What purpose would that serve?

Re: Xbox 360: More gay than ever before!

OK, fair enough...though I guess I'm still not understanding why you felt it necessary to make the terribly offensive comparisons to bestiality and pedophilia previously.  However, it's impossible for me to fathom having "problems" with what consenting adults do in the bedroom.  That's just not anything I waste any time thinking about.

Re: Xbox 360: More gay than ever before!

I believe a marriage is between a man and a women...
It really doesn't matter why. When I go to the voting booth ... and they ask me if I want to allow same sex marriages ... I will say NO... just like a majority of my fellow voters... and there is nothing you can do about it.

Most of you are getting all over my case as to why I want to interfere in other peoples business. Yet all you have been doing is interfering in mine. A question was asked about whether or not  the gay theme in the new GTA game would effect sales. I posted that it would affect my choice to buy it.

Had the news/ question about GTA been posted in games ... all of this smurf wouldn't have happened. But because it happened in minithink everyone has to get pissed off and argue everything like it's the damned debate club

I answered the question and I defended my answer... thats good enough.

Although opponents of gay marriage will eventually fall into the minority and lose on this point--this is true, there is nothing I can do about it.

But as long as you opt to make your views known here, I can continue to question or challenge them--and there's nothing you can do about that.

We've been "interfering" in your business?  You decided to share your views on an internet message board, and others responded.  To compare that to your decision to deny gay people equal rights is laughable.

Further--what is with all the whining and complaining in regards to having one's views challenged or questioned here?  If you're not interested in what others have to say regarding your views, then MiniThink probably isn't the best place for you.

What's the alternative? The PS3? Oh, yes. That's a very Apple friendly company.

At least the 360 has iPod support.

The PS3 had mpeg4/aac support out of the box, and can use any old USB or laptop drive for storage, not the overpriced proprietary $100 hard drive the Xbox needs.

Plus, Snow Leopard comes with a driver for the mostly standard Bluetooth based controller the PS3 uses. The PS3 also had wifi built in too.

Overall, the PS3 is more Mac friendly.

First, I'm not a gamer. But, my point was about supporting that company, for any reason. Boycotts exist. (In general.) You should try one.

Second, if one did invest in the MS product, isn't there a high hardware failure rate on them? Seems like an unwise waste of $$, if true. Or is that just FUD?

No, it's been real, tho apparently pretty much resolved with newer, cooler parts. But with the warranty extension MS threw in as a result, I haven't had to pay for repairs, even with 3 failures. But that's been an annoyance, not a deal-breaker. Heck, the voice comm/chat on XBL is a good way to keep up with friends, sometimes make new ones. And while I'd prefer not to go console at all, one has to adjust to reality. It won't adjust to you.

I have owned my main one since about a month after launch which was November 22, 2005. I haven't had a single problem with it. My wife and 2 friends have not had problems in the year or so they have owned theirs.

It may have all of those, but there still isn't a game available on it that I would buy that isn't available on the 360.

Why do I want to boycott a department division that has never done anything to offend me?

If anything, I have a beef with Sony. Sold my PS3 because of the IP smurf of LBP. They lied about how long it was going to take for XMB features. They lied about the release date of The Agency. They lied about what Evolution Studios could do for support in regards to DLC and Motorstorm. And don't get me started on Home.

Also, I could indeed connect any BT headset to the PS3. Now ask me how PSN handled voice communications from launch up to 6 months ago. The correct answer is VERY POORLY.

I don't hold them as the big bad guys in the industry right now. That belongs to Bobby Kotick and the Activision crew. But the butchered the hell out of that launch in '06 and they still couldn't stop from being smug until a couple of years later.
