Re: MiniThink

Read the book called 1984 by George Orwell. (It's a short book.)

Then watch Apple's 1984 Superbowl Commercial introducing the first Macintosh.

Re: MiniThink

Watch the commercial after reading the book. It'll make more sense.

You might want to read the Cliff's notes too. (After reading the book.) It'll clear up some of the bits of imagery and metaphor that people under 40 don't really have a personal frame of reference for.

Welcome to my 10th grade English class. smile

Re: MiniThink

Ok I'll spoil some of the book.

MiniThink is the shortened version of Ministry of Free Thought. Under the regime in the book, all things were minimalized in order to reduce the ability to think and reason, and place even more reliance upon the state. Look carefully at how New Speak is used in the book. When the Prols can't communicate ideas effectively you reduce the likelyhood of revolution.

Here the title is used satirically, since we encourage thought, expression, and exchange of ideas.

Re: MiniThink

Yeah, we know the book too well, and would likely ask very philosophical questions with a lot of mysticism involved.
