Question on DVD player Version 4 for 10.3.9

I have a G4 DDM and finally upgraded to 10.3.9 which came with the V 4 of DVD player. I've noticed that while watching a DVD somewhere in the middle of the movie, unlike my previous version the picture will freeze for a second while the audio continues to play. I was wondering if there's an update for this version to eliminate this problem?

Try using VLC instead of DVD Player.
