I need some help from those of you who monkey around with Xbox and PS3
Next week I'm being paid to participate in a focus group on the topic of videogames. In order to qualify for the focus group I had to tell a wee fib and claim to be an owner of both the Xbox 360 and PS3. I also claimed that I've purchased roughly twenty games for each console in the last year.
So, just in case anybody asks, what are the names of some of the most popular titles for each platform?
Thankew.

Recuse yourself from the focus group. Really, how much money are we talking here? And don't you think they'll want a little more in-depth info about your experiences than the names of those games?

Make everything a Sonic game. It'll work. People buy the same game lots of times lots of times. I have three copies of Halo.

I found a YouTube channel with Dreamcast reviews. That should help. Up soon.
That other thing, I'd feel like a traitor to my hobby, helping someone be a poseur. Pato's onto something tho.
And they're sure to ask questions you can't answer anywhichhoo, as Happy mentioned.

I've successfully bluffed my way through way more alien terrain than this. Shoot, I used to be a bartender, and I know nothing, and care nothing, about professional sports of any kind.
Those customers who engaged me in discussions about things such as Evander Hollyfield and The Forty Niners would never have guessed this.
Anyway, I've deduced from the screening questions that they're really not so much interested in my gaming habits per se, as they are in gauging my reaction to some new product which adds DVR functionality to game consoles.
Whether this is in the form of a game-console add-on or a whole new console with this capability built in, I can't say.
But I think Elpato's right:
Everything Sonic.
And maybe Eric's Solitaire Sampler. Do they have that for the Xbox 360?
I know; whatever the topic of conversation is, I will make a game of seeing how quickly I can bring it around to the subject of Peggle.

Or... remember how I mentioned you not hanging in Gaming much? Try looking (currently) about, oh, eight whole topics down this front page. See the first word in the subject line?

There is a Peggle game for the Xbox 360.

Good to know!
Bat, all this teasing about the Dreamcast? It's like if you owned a 2007 Chevy Cobalt and were teasing a guy for driving around in a Studebaker Avanti. The Cobalt might go faster, handle better, and use less gas, but that doesn't make it a better car.
Like the Avanti, the Dreamcast is a jewel-like, classic design. More powerful game consoles have been built, but a better console is yet to be designed.

By the way, I am quite confident that I'm on the verge of breaking the 25,000,000 point mark in Peggle Nights. Please don't spread that information around though, as it might be demoralizing to the rest of the Peggle community, who would surely give up if they knew how high the bar was about to be set.

You forget I spent a fair amount of my youth in Studebakers, including a Silver Hawk. An uncle had an Avanti... all before they went out of business.
Thing is, they're all years dead now. However classic, you can't live there forever. Sooner or later you've gotta update, even if you hang onto the old.
Had you a Rolls-Royce Phantom III, you wouldn't be driving it daily. Even John Steed would've had to retire his Bentley for daily use by now, and you're not an Avenger.

Damn it, damn it, damn it!
I've completed the adventure with a mere 22,057,020 points!
Damn it!
I need to rethink my entire Peggle Nights strategy!
Damn it.

Has yet, you mean. Car analogies tend to fair poorly in the computer/console/electronic entertainment world- e.g., you don't go out to the garage to admire the Dreamcast's 'classic lines,' the design, the just-right amount of/speed of (etc., etc). You might think fondly of gaming memories past, even dust one off and play it now and again... but, much moreso than in autos, tech matters here... a lot, and it progresses very quickly indeed. Graphics are the fastest-evolving computer tech, and the PowerVR chip in the DC is a decade old. I expect you play it thru an old, interlaced, VGA-res TV, too. It's, well, a toy. A man can have fun with toys on occasion, but, pushing 40, perhaps it's basically time to put away childish things.

BurgerTime Deluxe Released For Mac
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Monday, August 24, 2009
Namco has announced the release of BurgerTime Deluxe for Mac. The game is a remake of the 1980's original arcade title which challenges players to navigate a series of ladders and platforms to make burger ingredients fall onto plates below. BurgerTime Deluxe features over 60 levels and several minigames.
Let the culinary capers commence as Namco proudly serves up BurgerTime Deluxe for Mac! Enjoy a full course in the extensive Story Mode, or just sit down for a light snack in Quick Mode. Join Chefs Peter Pepper and Sally Salt as they help their uncle thwart the dastardly Vinnie Vinegar. Scale the platforms and assemble the burgers to clear the levels, then speed through the exciting minigames. Avoid Vinnie’s henchmen, Mr. Hotdog, Mr. Egg, and the other baddies as they look to make short order of you! Daze baddies with your handy pepper shaker and use special items to freeze, cook, or salt them to your tastes. Earn big points by squishing your edible adversaries with falling ingredients or dropping a piece out from under them! Who says you shouldn’t play with your food?
Features:
• Enjoy a full course in Story Mode or just a snack in Quick Mode!
• Play your way through over 60 levels and minigames!
• Thwart Vinnie Vinegar in the all new story mode.
• Join the food fight with powerups like french fries and hot sauce!
'Course, you could go Boot Camp and try something I mentioned, Falcon 4: Allied Force. It was developed by Graphsim, who still sponsor IMG (altho they seem to have since sold the IP to developer Lead Pursuit).
I have the '98 original Falcon IV, complete w/ 520 page manual.

Ok, as promised- a fellow enthusiast, reviewing a game with simply awesome grfx and physics.
The channel only has 1072 videos, tho. (Yes, I expect you'll go nuts cramming. Sigh).

This is a toughie. The PS3 having twenty notable games throughout its whole life is a stretch.

Thank you all for your input!
Don't say you heard this from me, but it looks like Microsoft's next revision of the Xbox 360 may possibly have built-in DVR capability, with the ability to transfer content to the Zune.
I'm not sure if this would involve any sort of squirting behavior.
Bat, I was pretty much kidding about the Dreamcast being better than modern consoles, just to get your dander up, and 'cause I enjoy making crazy statements from time to time. It was a great design for its era, and judged by the standards of its time, it certainly deserves praise, and the controllers are still some of the best ever made, but an Xbox 360 killer it ain't.
Regarding Burger Time: Sounds yummy!

I won't; I hear most rumors- in fact, I think you've seen I report them often. We'll see... but in similar vein, Halo 3, like Marathon, records every game session as data that can be replayed 'in-engine' (and only so, to save space, and because that allows major camera and other manipulation- very handy in grabbing screens from beautiful, striking or interesting angles or distances- some even from space [takes patience]). Bungie also offers a render-to-video option, for pay.

I know more than you think about these things. The Unreal engine had PowerVRSG (Second Generation) support built in from the first, but PowerVR took Sega's money and ran to do the DC chip. They tried but never really recovered in the consumer videocard space, a day (year, really) late & a dollar short. I think today they make chips for handheld devices.
Regarding Burger Time: Sounds yummy!
Ah, a food pun. Yummy. Glad to help. More seriously, it's about where Mac gaming's at since Boot Camp- poker, casual (a spooky number of food games), a few more serious titles, and most Mac devs diversified into PC, consoles, or death. Retro console, in this case.

It's not like there was much to kill in the first place... It was already brain dead, just being sustained on life support. They finally decided there was no hope for revival and pulled the plug.
