Yeah. Have you seen certain disney shows. Pure trash.
Talking about Hannah Montana.
You won't seem old saying surfing the web. My friends and I still use it occasionally so I guess teens still understand it and thus it is outdated. Whomever wrote that article should get his/hers facts right.

Re: did someone get paid to write this garbage?
Yeah,
That's a bunch of idiocy to be sure. Particularly the assertion that "The web" and "The internet" are synonymous.
When I am browsing Usenet I am certainly on the internet but I am absolutely not on the WWW.
Dumb ass.

Do many people still use NNTP for discussions. I only use it for binaries.

Re: did someone get paid to write this garbage?
That's what happened to journalism when in the late 20th century it became all about selling advertising.
Their business is NOT informing readers. It's selling them stuff!

Re: did someone get paid to write this garbage?
My English teacher gave us a keynote on journalism, it is not only about advertising but they also try to make some superflous articles like the jokes, fashion, etc. I think it is called yellow journalism.

You mean the "Lifestyle" section of the newspaper? Superfluous, perhaps.
But yellow journalism is more like... scary headlines for minor stories, mismatching pictures with headlines to grab attention, etc. Insinuating without outright libel, in order to attract attention and sell papers.
Like that Cisco router review I read a few years back that was presented in the form of an interview with the X-Files' Gillian Anderson.

Yellow Journalism
DRAMATIC SCANDAL REVEALED!
with 45 FULL COLOR photographs of the BODIES!
With a special column by the Editor. "Will no one think of the children?"
Most local tv news programs (at least in the United States) suffer from a bit of jaundice.
Some subjects actually enjoy pain, and withhold information they might otherwise have divulged in order to be punished.

Re: did someone get paid to write this garbage?
3. WEB SURFING
When is the last time you heard someone talk about surfing the Web? You know the term is out of date when your kids don't know what it means. To teens and tweens, the Internet and the World Wide Web are one and the same thing. So it's better to use the term "browsing" the Web if you want to be understood. Or you can just say "Google" since everyone uses that term as a verb.
12. WORLD WIDE WEB
Nobody talks about the "World Wide Web" anymore, or the "Information Superhighway," for that matter. It's just the Internet. It's a distinction that Steve Czaban, the popular Fox Sports Radio talk show host, likes to mock when he refers to the "Worldwide Interweb." Nothing dates you more than pulling out one of those old-fashioned ways of referring to the Internet such as "infobahn" or "electronic highway."
