Installing iMovie 6.04 on an Intel iMac
Hello all. I was one of those that bought iLife 08 and then downloaded iMovie 6.04 for free from the Apple web site. I have been running 6.04 on my G4 (Tiger) and have made many projects. I am now looking into buying a new Intel iMac and would like to know if any one has taken the iMovie 6.04 dmg and Install Package (which I have saved) and installed it on an Intel with success. There is much confusion about this topic to the point where I have heard that iMovie 09 (which comes pre-installed) must first be trashed before iMovie 6.04 will install.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I have, Rich. Its been a while since I've installed it. Since then, I've installed iMovie 9.
I'm not an iMovie user, but I don't hear any complaints about it. I suspect that your iMovie 6 projects will be perfectly okay in iMovie 9, technically speaking. I don't know about the other way around.

Nefarious, Thank for your reply but here is the problem. Most people installed iMovie 6 (a free download from Apple when you buy and install iLife 08) on an Intel mac to start with. I installed mine on a G4 and now hope to install it again on an iMac Intel when I buy it.
The Intel Mac has iLife 09 and I have read where some have said the iMovie 6 Install Package (because it was a free download with iLife 08) will not install when 09 is present. Some have said that you have to trash or uninstall iLife 09 first, then install iMovie 6, then reinstall iLife 09. Some have even said that the iMovie 6 Install Package dmg might not even install correctly on an Intel. It has become extremely confusing but very important to me because my first priority is to be able to continue with iMovie 6.
