It depends upon the church.
Many churches hire young youth pastors who themselves still have some growing up to do and don't keep things in line.

Also - many youth at church are not there because they want to be. Thus they are bored, and turn to flirting etc. to pass the time.

Furthermore, I think you are neglecting things like clubs and raves where un-churched kids specifically go to be promiscuous.

It's subject to interpretation, I guess, but I think 1 Corinthians 7:9 is pretty specific on this matter.

"Raves?"  Do those still exist?

Equivalents to them undoubtedly do, if raves themselves don't.

I'm going to have to trust pariah's experience on the matter.

I'm sorry--was someone actually referring to getting laid "at church" or picking up partners "at church?"  I thought the reference was to church-going youth, not to people physically inside of a church. 

And that's where people of my generation went to find smurf partners. Well, one of several places.

Hey. Pre–Jean is in DC this weekend.

Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Rick Perry, Michelle Bachmann, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Mike Huckabee and Bill O'Reilly are just some of the big names that are gathering for the "Values Voters Summit 2009" in Washington, D.C. this weekend.

On the first day of the summit, however, a beauty queen was the talk of the event.

Carrie Prejean, the former Miss California who blames her loss in the 2009 Miss USA contest on the fact that she stated her opposition to same-sex marriage, told attendees that "even though I didn't win the crown that night, I know that the Lord has so much of a bigger crown in heaven for me."

She said Friday morning that "God had a plan for me that day" that she lost the beauty contest because "he knew I was strong enough to get through all the junk that I've been through." Added Prejean, who is releasing a book in November: "I was a woman who stood up for the truth and people don’t want to admit that. I had the courage and the bravery that a lot of people don’t have.”

Though they weren’t citizens until Thursday, these members of the U.S. military had already committed to that part of the oath.

The 74 military members and families of military members, stationed across the state, were welcomed at the Battleship North Carolina by Miss USA Kristen Dalton, of Wilmington, Mayor Bill Saffo, whose mother was an immigrant, and representatives of the U.S. military and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Dalton spoke of what she thought it meant to be a citizen. She said U.S. citizens have the freedom to make choices and are passionate about serving their communities.

“Americans are extremely spirited and are always looking for ways to give back,” she said.
