I have. It's so shiny, it's almost blinding. Definitely meant to compliment the aluminum scheme of new Macs.

Yep, I have a lot of cover art that does not convert and I just keep it in list view. I just prefer plain list view Home sharing seems like a good idea for many.

Anybody upgraded to iTunes 9?

Yep, I was blinded by the light. I keep my main music list sorted as a grid and in this iTunes version it put the background behind the genre images a blinding off white. I checked everywhere in the iTunes prefs for an iPhoto like option to change the darkness of the background back to what it was in 6 but no luck. sad
Also when I went to the store my shopping cart disappeared and it moved all the items to a 'wish list' which sucks now because every time I want to add something I have to use the drop down and select wish list instead of just clicking add-to-cart. I want my shopping cart back it really helped me not over splurge on new music tuesdays, as I'd add stuff I wanted go to checkout see the tab and than slim the price down a bit. Guess they wanted to increase sales by making everyone use dumb 1-click buy.

Has anybody taken a good hard gander at the Home Sharing feature yet?  With two macs in the house, it'd be nice to see how well that works.

There's what you love to do, and then there's what you get paid to do.  Those two things are often different.

So, is video of the event up anywhere? If it is, I can't find it.

iTunes 9 doesn't follow the unified theme anymore. That was short.

It's the same source feed, just that one is delivered from QT & the other from iTunes.

Some stores in my area are reporting getting the 8GB version (the one w/the old processor) and are saying they are expecting full shipments to arrive tomorrow afternoonish.

Re: Sept. 9th Media Event. What's gonna be there.

Just got my new 32GB Touch and I am unwrapping it/plugging it in. They must have just got them as the sales person looked at it oddly and said this was the 1st one he's seen.

Re: Sept. 9th Media Event. What's gonna be there.

Be aware, the new models power button is moved ever so slightly to the right of where it originally was. So the case I was recommended (Crystal Air Jacket) does not fit it. I will return it later and see if any of them still do.

*edit* Sorry, the above is wrong. The power button was moved slightly on the 2nd gen iPod and the Apple Store rep gave me the wrong case. The original case I got was just a piece of plastic that only covered the back, not the sides or even the top. This for $29.99!? I ended up getting the Agent 18 and it was $25 and protects the entire unit and includes a screen protector. Looks cooler too. The only thing I do not like is it is a bit slippery.

Re: Sept. 9th Media Event. What's gonna be there.

One more thing: battery life is way better (that I see so far) than my 1st gen. Especially considering sound is enabled in everything. I've been using this thing for approximately 5 hours and only a 1/4 of batttery life used. My 1st gen would be at least 1/2 gone, probably more.

I love this thing.

Re: Sept. 9th Media Event. What's gonna be there.

Apple now claims on their site that the new 32GB & 64 are 50% faster than the previous ones for gaming, web browsing, etc. I see it and also see that my battery lasts a longer.

Re: Sept. 9th Media Event. What's gonna be there.

I'm just going to buy a refurbished 8GB for $150 to hold me over until the touch's with cameras do actually come out. And they will. Apple has backpedaled before. They will again. The "touch is a game machine" excuse was just that, an excuse for why they failed. I suspect the problems with the camera modules were real and that Apple actually planned on having a camera in the iPod touch, but had to redesign them a few weeks before the event because of the problems. I feel confident there will be a camera in next years touch if not an update sometime this year. (And maybe even an FM radio)

They "missed the boat" on CD burners. And they "missed the boat" on cameras in the iPod touch. But better late than never.

So until then I will get myself a refurbished 2nd generation. I want it as an internet machine, not really a game machine.

Apple saw this problem and now added the option to darken the background in 9.02 smile
