Battleforge, STALKER: Pripyat, Aliens versus Predator going DX11
In a blog post related to DirectX 11, AMD's Ian McNaughton reveals that in addition to DiRT 2, other DX11 titles gamers can expect to see in the months ahead include BattleForge and S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat.
BattleForge was one of the first titles designed to take advantage of DirectX 10.1, apparently a patch will be released for DX11 as well. If you recall, GSC also added DX10.1 to S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky, so it's no surprise to see them picking up DX11 for Pripyat either. (Spotted on Blue's News)
Remarkably quick takeup, if not exactly likely to take full advantage. We'll have to wait and see.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat Website offers a new movie from GSC Game World's upcoming shooter sequel. The clip shows off a number of environments and introduces Burer, a new creature the new installment in the irradiated series will introduce. The clip is also available on ActionTrip, AtomicGamer, and GameVideos.

I still chuckle at seeing the Burer being promoted as a "new creature", seeing as how I wasted three of them just yesterday.

There was a LOT cut from the original - several other monsters, sleeping with dream sequences, dynamic unpredictable blowouts that spawn masses of monsters and shift the position of anomalies - that's why I like the mods so much - they uncover detail that was supposed to be in the game. I guess GSC had to rush the game out the door to keep the lights on at the office.
You really haven't played proper STALKER until you've played Oblivion Lost. Right now I'm playing a 2009 OL update that has gracious beautiful and detailed graphics, but there are some real frustrating bugs with it CTD on reloading savegames.

Graphics sound a bit like that rewritten shader code that's now unfindable... if much of the rest was in the game but not enabled via the appropriate scripts or whatever mechanism it uses, it makes me wonder about the rushed aspect. Too rushed to turn on and QA, or to just even activate? IIRC it was buggy enough already.
Hope it's found enough sales to be worth reissuing in a Gold Ed. or some such. Still, a mod-friendly engine apparently.
Oblivion Lost... check. Title makes more sense now. Still, I'm trying scrimp enough together for ODST ATM.
