To celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day, in just over 3 hours Telltale Games will be offering the first chapter of Tales of Monkey Island free for anyone to download:

So, this is a Mac forum. Mac gamers that want to be pirates should try the Pirates of The Caribbean MMO. Lots of fun to be had for free, more if you pay.

I couldn't find any system requirements listed anywhere on the site. My real issue with the trailer is that it gives you no clue as to what sort of game it is. Are those cut-scenes? Presumably, but cut-scenes from what? And RPG? A platformer? A FPS (First-Person Swachbuckler)?
I guess if it's free, a person can always just take their chances

It's a remake of an old school adventure game. (think King's Quest, Quest for Glory etc.)

An update of the 1990 DOS original. The Monkey Island series with its hero Guybrush Threepwood is considered one of the classic adventure game series, of which LucasArts was once a top purveyor. Hasn't been a new one in a decade.
Telltale Games is racking up an excellent track record with their episodic games- I don't think they've missed yet. Heck, when LucasArts killed their own resurrection of a couple of their classics some years back, Telltale picked up the Sam & Max sequel, and the rest is history.
Doing a Search of Gaming for Telltale should turn up a number of threads. "Use the Search function, Luke..."

I heard something about a remake of The Secret of Monkey Island®. Is that the same as your game?
You're thinking of The Secret of Monkey Island®: Special Edition, which is the game our friends at LucasArts have recently released. This is the faithfully re-imagined version of the original The Secret of Monkey Island, presented in all new HD detail.
