Some idiot I know is being charged with attempted rape.

Wow, I just found out about this.

There's this friend of the family, a really nice person, whose husband (also a friend of the family) died several years ago.

So in her grief, she somehow got involved with this schmuck who I never liked. He wears lots of gold and cologne, is loud, and likes to say things like, "Don't smurf with me; I'm from Israel!"

He claimed to have been a cop in Israel, and when asked how he supports himself now, the lady in question said the guy "works with the police helping them bust drug dealers."

In other words, he's a rat.

So anyway, the two of them have been living together in an apartment.

Monday evening, the police show up, question the guy, and take him away without his dentures or his artificial leg, which he hadn't been wearing.

It turns out there's this other woman who lives in the same apartment building. The guy apparently gets "massages" from her, and also gives her massages.

Strictly therapeutic, I suppose.

Well anyway, the dude was very drunk that night, and probably on drugs as well. It seems he tried to take that  massage arrangement to another level, and things did not end well.

At his arraignment, the charges against him included aggravated assault, attempted rape, and false imprisonment.

Owing to a prior felony conviction, his bail was set at $300,000. As of right now, he's still locked up. I hope they throw the book at him.

I didn't mean to imply that the dude's in The Tribe.

Re: Some idiot I know is being charged with attempted rape.

Update:

The one-legged lech is still locked up, awaiting a court appearance.

Meanwhile, the woman that had been living with him received a three-day eviction notice yesterday. It seems there's a clause in the rental agreement which says you're responsible for anybody living in your apartment, and physically attacking other tenants is a lease-breaker.

She doesn't know what to do with all the guy's belongings, which include his artificial leg. The logical thing would be do leave all that stuff with his sister, but he's prohibited her from contacting his sister, 'cause he doesn't want his family to know what's going on.

If I was in her shoes, all his stuff would be out on the street, and I'd phone his sister and tell her to come get it, not because I didn't want him to lose everything, but because his family should know what he's done.

Are you serious?

Back when I worked for Pinkerton in Danville, we had this Israeli nut of a captain who would sometimes stop by with a prosthetic leg.
He claims to have been a pilot in the Israeli Air Force back in the 60s or 70s. And he was a total nut case. We had a bathroom in the guard house but he showed up one day, got out of his patrol car and dropped his pants and started pissing on a tree next to the guard house.

This is an upper class gated community in Danville, CA. And when he dropped 'em, he really dropped them - exposed rear end for all to see.

Fortunately it was early AM after the drunks get home but before people are leaving for work and no one did see him.

I forget which leg was missing, but I think it was only to just under the knee. I wonder if it is the same guy.

Absolutely. Is your family's friend so clueless that losing her apartment's lease is a clear deal-breaker and she should contact the schlub's sister?

D'Eyncourt, she really does seem to make a lot of really bad decisions. I'd yell at her myself, but I feel it's not my place, so I encourage my mom to yell at her.

Resedit, that is too weird! Did that guy's name start with "W," by any chance?

Re: Some idiot I know is being charged with attempted rape.

Res, more details please! I'm really curious to know whether it was the same guy. Claiming to be in the Israeli Air Force, certainly sounds like his M.O. I was reminded just now that his claim hadn't just been that he was a cop in Israel; he had, in fact, claimed to have some affiliation with Mossad.

Given Mossad's (and in general, Isreal's) harsh treatment of Arabs, and the high likelihood that this guy is himself an Arab, there must be some very convoluted psychology underlying his pathological lies about being an insider among Israeli authority figures.

Man, that's very harsh, evicting your friend for the actions of another. I can see how the landlord should have the right to discourage tenants from housing people with violent tendencies, but since the victim and the accused were in and out of each other's apartments, I'd say he had everybody fooled.

Re: Some idiot I know is being charged with attempted rape.

In the eviction notice, the landlord cited the fact that several tenants had complained about the guy being noticeably drunk while in or around the building, so I guess he didn't have everybody fooled.

Re: Some idiot I know is being charged with attempted rape.

The sense I have is that he was trashed in the hallway, bothering other tenants. Did I mention that this is a senior citizen's apartment complex?

Yep. Everybody involved is a senior.

Re: Some idiot I know is being charged with attempted rape.

I have a rather stupid question. Has the fool finally reaquired his prosthetic leg?

I remember seeing a lot of people like that once in a while; immediately when I see them the following crosses my mind: "carajo, si ese fuera yo me suicidarĂa". Of course I only think that because I am a selfish punk that hasn't suffered much.

Re: Some idiot I know is being charged with attempted rape.

No, they won't let him have his leg while he's in jail. I guess the concern is that it could be used as a weapon, or that parts of it could be used for that purpose.

It sucks to lose a limb, but for most folks, it doesn't suck enough to make them want to die.

Re: Some idiot I know is being charged with attempted rape.

Yep. She still does. It's kind of funny, she's always been the kind of parent who had no qualms about using swear words in front of me, so carajo is something I've been hearing my whole life.* I never, however, had any idea how to spell it.

*Heck, I was probably the main reason she ever felt the need to use that word! big_smile
