So that I won't be accused of trolling and running I ask the mucho wise and worldly crew here if you are OK with this smurf being the safe school Czar or do you have a problem with him. Most of you probably know what I think of him.

However, the new audiotape contradicts this claim. In 2000, Mr. Jennings gave a talk to the Iowa chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, an advocacy group that promotes homosexuality in schools.

Regarding the sexual activity that he didn't report to the authorities--it's a difficult call. The student was 15 (the applicable age of consent was 16). He was confiding in a teacher regarding his sexual orientation. All of that would have come out if the student's claim were reported. It happened in 1989.

Jennings was appointed the assistant deputy secretary in the Office of Safe & Drug Free Schools in the U.S. Department of Education. He founded the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network

Jennings is among a number of Obama "czars" who have become controversial.
