Know of any budget 35mm slide scanners for MAc OSX?

I have some old slides I'd like to be able to scan and preserve.  I don't want to spend a fortune because I probably wont use it much after I scan my slides.  Know of any reasonable slide scanners?
Thanks

Re: Know of any budget 35mm slide scanners for MAc OSX?

I was using a Plustek 7200 for a while and it was OK. I only paid about $200 for it and it was good quality for such a cheap scanner. But then I started shooting more film and wanted to scan more than 1 frame at a time and I also picked up a medium format camera so I wanted something that would work with more than just 35mm...the Plustek wasn't cutting it so I bought an Epson V700 flatbed with transparency backlight. A friggin bargain for under $500. Now I figure that if the film is worth scanning, it's worth scanning right.

Try picking one up used on eBay, scan your stuff, and then sell it right back to somebody else. They're not that much cheaper on eBay but the prices aren't dropping either. You might even make money in the deal if you find the right sucker. When I sold my old Plustek on eBay some idiot bought it for nearly $100 more than I bought it brand new. Magical.

Rather than getting your own scanner which you admit is likely to get little use after this preservation project, you should consider hiring someone who has the equipment.
