Login items

OS 10.5.8
Intel iMac

I unlock my login items preference make changes and close the dialog. If I recheck to see if the changes are reflected in the preference dialog, they are changed. Logout or restart, the added items are not opened at startup. I assume this means a corrupted preference but I don't know where to look?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: Login items

I have no idea whether that means you've got a corrupt preference file, but if you want to check for that, one free utility I've had good luck with is Preferential Treatment.

Naturally, you'd also want to use Disk Utility, Disk Warrior, and/or Tech Tool Pro to scan and repair all your files.

I checked both system and user prefs with PF and a few unrelated items had errors but nothing to do with login items. Thanks for the suggestion.
