My comments above were extensions based on known events. So while based in reality my comments may or may not represent fact.

Toss in a couple of dozen Ukrainian blonds and you have the fixin's for a fun weekend. The $5000 day rate is pocket change to the rich. No schlepping around in seedy bars or dealing with low end street girls. Limo up to the villa and once you are inside it's secret and luxo++.

Uh, well -- I'm quite sure I'm the only one on the board that's actually been there three times, and paid for sex.  But thanks for the lesson.  I'll admit I was at the Penthouse, a legendary club in the slums of Santo Domingo (sadly now closed) lining up guys at the urinals to inspect the meat before purchase, but once I selected Luis we left and returned to my hotel on the back of his motorcycle (this, by the way, was all done wearing Prada on my part).

And I'm not sure how "quietly" this has become if I went down there the first time over a decade ago.  Guess I'm the trendsetter I've always claimed to be.  At least we all know why Henry Kissinger owns a large mansion in the DR

So because you went there for sex, that must be why Rush went.

Maybe Rush likes seeing the world through the blue-tinted haze that Viagra sometimes gives people? Only to counteract the rose-colored glasses that liberals like to use, of course.

Not so fast, my friend...

NFL Players Executive Director DeMaurice Smith on Saturday made a move to solidify the union against a bid by conservative talk show radio host Rush Limbaugh as part of a group that aims to purchase the St. Louis Rams.

In an e-mail to the union's executive committee on Saturday specifically addressing Limbaugh's bid, Smith said, "I've spoken to the Commissioner [Roger Goodell] and I understand that this ownership consideration is in the early stages. But sport in America is at its best when it unifies, gives all of us reason to cheer, and when it transcends. Our sport does exactly that when it overcomes division and rejects discrimination and hatred."

Maybe he packs the way my mom does.
Throws all prescriptions into the bag.

Maybe his wife was toying the idea of meeting him there.

Maybe his weight results in heart problems and he's allergic to aspirin, so viagra is a good substitute to thin his blood - what it was originally engineered for.

Viagra is now being used to treat not only erectile dysfunction (ED) but also pulmonary hypertension.

That, btw, is why my dad takes it.

Ah - I wasn't aware he was single.
I don't pay much attention to his life.

But there are other reasons to prescribe viagra, and he is a big guy - he could have heart issues.

He was on the new Leno show, fairly thin again (at least not what you'd call fat).

Was that in 2006 when this incident took place?

It's also possible he had viagra with him in the event that he met some hot chick the old fashioned way, and not to "buy sex" as is suggested.

I don't really know, I suspect only a few people really know what took place.

Res, this is not a court of law.  Rush isn't going to be prosecuted due to any of our virtual hurled tomatoes.  The court of public opinion isn't here to be merciful.  You needn't defend him so vigorously.

Oh he's got heart issues alright.  Whereas most humans have their heart running at the usual 98.6°, his is around -459.6° instead.

Pot, kettle...

He might've been meeting a wife he currently lacks. He might've met someone... he might just enjoy having a woody at his age. He might enjoy surprising the maid with a towel thrown over same. Maybe the whole trip gives him a rush of power. It might've been part of some esoteric stress-test. Maybe the Anti-Xenu spoke to him.

So many possibilities one might jump to that're easier than checking, easier even than Google. Maybe.

Who says he went there to have sex with a chick?

He himself said he was down there for a "boys weekend".
Safe to say he went there to have sex with young boys.

I don't know much about Viagra, but I don't think it is a particularily good thing to take if you already have a heart condition.

Sez right in the Viagra docs that those with heart conditions should be careful.
My feelings on Rush can be summed up thusly:
Once an addict always an addict and addicts can be counted on to do do one thing well, they lie.

It depends on the condition.

And I believe on other drugs. I think you aren't suppose to take it if you are on nitro, for example.

Re: Rush is doin' real well, apparently

A doctor simply isn't going to prescribe Viagra to treat a heart condition or as a blood thinner/aspirin substitute.

Viagra and other medications indicated for ED are not "blood thinners" in the exact sense of the term. They work by inhibiting phospodiesterase-5, which leads to vasodilation. This vasodilation is great in the target area, where the blood gets "trapped" and an erection occurs. However, vasodilation is not always wanted, especially if taking another medication that acts as a vasodilator, where the additive effects of the two may lead to hypotension.

I don't care if he's an addict. He was a liar even before getting hooked.
His ability to lie without remorse probably helped him stay hooked though.

Except I already provided a link demonstrating that they do.

That was, btw, the original purpose of the drug - it just turned out that the side effect was more marketable.
