I think she knows that I have better judgement than what they both had at my age.
Some people have told me my maturity equals that of a 19 year old. If that is true could that explain why I'm into this girl.

Yeah, when I was 16 I dated a girl who was 19 and figured that it meant that I had the maturity of a 19 year old.
Actually, it meant that she had the maturity of a 16 year old and it was a big ol' basket of drama. Best friend had the same experience (different girl, same ages).
16-17 year olds always like to fool themselves into thinking that they're more mature than their peers.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves; we're still at the asking-her-out stage of the relationship. Statutory rape can come later, and should only occur between two people who are in a deeply committed, loving relationship.
Also, isn't Puerto Rico still struggling under the yoke of American Imperialism, and therefore subject to our laws? Not that it matters, of course; the only time you ever hear about a woman getting in trouble for statutorially raping a boy is when the boy's thirteen and the woman is his teacher and giving birth to his child.

Not quite. There is the case in Utah where a 13 yo girl and a 12 yo boy had sex, and both were charged with the statutory rape of the other. The only shock here is that it wasn't Florida.
Salt Lake City - Utah Supreme Court justices acknowledged Tuesday that they were struggling to wrap their minds around the concept that a 13-year-old girl could be both an offender and a victim for the same act - in this case, having consensual sex with her 12-year-old boyfriend.
The Ogden, Utah, girl was put in this odd position because she was found guilty of violating a state law that prohibits sex with someone under age 14. She also was the victim in the case against her boyfriend, who was found guilty of the same violation by engaging in sexual activity with her.
"The only thing that comes close to this is dueling," said Associate Chief Justice Michael Wilkins, noting that two people who take 20 paces and then shoot could each be considered both victim and offender.

Yep. Not a state, but a territory of the US, and subject to US federal laws (afaik).

Macnuke: she is hawt, but also saint-like in appearance and well, I have seen hotter girls.
Now I think is the worst time to mention it but I had not even thought where the date would be.
Regarding what my country is; it is a commonwealth, a territory of the US and can be considered a colony. We are subject to your laws but we also have are own laws.
