No.
Try again.
Hint: that day when you "fall back" has 25 hours.

No it doesn't.
I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

Because that SOB proposed flying kites in rainstorms. The fact that he endorsed Daylight Savings just galvanizes my contempt.

What comes after 2:59 AM on Nov 1st? 2:00 AM. That's what he's talking about.
Even though I don't agree with the amount of outrage, I do partially agree that DST has become outdated.

Re: Daylight Savings Time is Fascism
So don't change your clocks. There's no law saying you have to. Just get used to the idea of everything happening one hour from when you think it should be. And don't be an smurf about it, e.g.:
Your friend: "I'll see you at noon."
You, snarkily: "You mean one o'clock?"
Your friend, muttering: "smurf."

And, by the way, why do you hate Benjamen Franklin? He first proposed Daylight Savings Time.
Actually his "proposal" was a satiric comment on the Parisian lifestyle. He claimed that a DST could save Paris millions of pounds of candle wax every year because of the Parisian habit of staying up late and waking up even later. It wasn't a serious proposal.
My problem with DST is that all of the reasons why it may have saved energy early in the 20th century became largely insignificant with the (sub)urban movement of the US population in the 1940-50s and the 24/7 nature of today's businesses. The most recent analysis of the energy consumption in the US shows that DST's energy saving effects gets lost in the fluctuations due to local weather and such.

Re: Daylight Savings Time is Fascism
When I lived back in Illinois I never minded DST but after moving here it really bugs me.
The thing is I used to live on the very Eastern side of the CTZ and now I live way to the west side. Before in ILL it would be getting full dark about 9pm, which is cool. Here, on the other hand, it does not get ful dark till damn near 10pm and that's too late. I get to work at 7am and it's still pitch black out.
It sucks.

Actually, no. Nov 1st in the US will have 25 hours by virtue of cycling back through 0200. When they reset the clocks again in the spring, that particular Sunday will last only 23 hours by skipping the 0300 hour completely.

We don't follow DST. Throughout most of the year night begins at 6:30 pm. During your beloved DST at 7:00pm. Thus the days begin at 5:30am and 6:00 am respectively. We hope you enjoy our lack of DST.

The way we divide and label measurements was precisly the nit which was being picked, so I'm glad we're all on the same page now.

I don't think we are. The nit that was being picked, so to speak, is the idea of the government controlling time.
