I don't like the new Camaro...
...but it's nice to see any current model wearing Hurst colors:

I'd rather have Bumblebee.

How embarrassing. I hadn't realized there were any ten-year-old boys who could afford a Camaro. Ford shouldn't let Chevy steal the pre-teen market! They need to come out with a Dora the (Ford) Explorer.

Re: I don't like the new Camaro...
I saw a non-Hurst Camaro the other day on the road. I thought it was ugly, looks more like an old Dodge Challenger, in a bad way, from behind.
American cars seem to be moving retro (- Beetle), desperate to grasp any glimpse of the glory days. The rest of the car companies are moving forward. The retro thing is getting old fast.

Try sitting in one. Your head practically bumps against the ceiling, and you feel like you're looking out at the world through little mail slots. Personally, I would find the lack of visibility very stressful.

I don't care for the new Camaro. It's too flat and lacks the curves and muscular looking fender lines of the original. The grill is completely wrong.

I like the new camaro. A lot. Regarding bumbing with the ceiling Bren, that is not a problem for me.

I'm not exactly tall myself. I'm 5"9, and I find the thing kinda cramped. Wellfleation, wouldn't you say the new Challenger looks a lot more like the old Challenger?
It's interesting that so much has been made of the new Camaro's retro styling. I've never been a huge admirer of the first-gen Camaro that it mimicks, but the other day I happened to see a '67 Camaro, and was stuck by how much better-looking it is than the current one.

I Guess - I was not clear on how it was branded. I saw a new Camero at a dealer recently as well and it looked similar so I assumed it was the same.?

Me too, but make mine black and silver, owing to my fondness for the '83 and '84 models. The only problem is that for this to occur, Oldsmobile would have to still exist.
Imagine what a 2010 Cutlass might have looked like.
Sigh.

Hm, evolve the Intrigue a few years and toss in a Northstar instead of the shortstar, or maybe the LS4.

Tallgeese, when you put it that way, maybe it's a good thing there's no more Cutlass. Wellfleation, the Challenger's a Chrysler product, while the Camaro's from GM.

Yeah, I remember. I think the Challenger's nicer looking, but the car magazines say it's less sophisticated, and this really shows on twisty roads. Of the retro rods, I think the Mustang's the best, 'cause it's the only one that doesn't weigh two tons.

Yeah, the only problem I have with the new Camaro is that it is way too heavy. I've read that it handles the weight well though.
I kinda was starting to like the Mustang more until I saw this abomination!

15.4" MacBook Pro, 2.16GHz C2D, 3GB RAM, 160GB HD, OS X 10.6, connected via 56K modem. iMac DV SE, 400MHz PowerPC G3, 128MB RAM, 13GB HD, OS 9.2. iPhone 16GB, 1st gen. iPod nano 2GB Silver, 2nd gen.

Is that even real? If so, what class of racing is it for? It almost looks like something for NASCAR, which would be weird, 'cause that's the Taurus's territory.

When it comes to performance cars, as I get older (turned 44 on Oct 8th) I want luxury and performance, so I'd rather have the Cadillac CTS-V.
This car has been reviewed in many magazines in the U.S. and Europe all with positive results. Car & Driver loved the CTS-V. Their video on the test drive can be seen here.
Specs.
Engine
6.2-liter supercharged V-8
Transmission
6-sp manual/6-sp automatic
Horsepower
(bhp @ rpm)
556 @ 6100
Torque
(lb-ft @ rpm)
551 @ 3800
Top speed
Manual 191 mph
Automatic 175 mph (Automatic is electronically limited)
0-60 3.9 seconds
0-100 8.7 seconds
1/4 mile 12.2@ 119mph
These speed specs (0-60, 0-100, and 1/4 mile) are the CTS-V with automatic transmission, which from what I read is faster then the manual!
Edmunds has their video and review on this "Cadzilla" (as what Motor Trend calls it).
Even tho this car has a hefty price ($64,000- $68,000). Considering the luxury/performance cars it's competing against, this cars a steal.

Re: I don't like the new Camaro...
The Caddie's nice but isn't it a little too much to pay for. Can you afford it. I am young and I also prefer luxury and performance. I don't care about having the fastest care as much as I do about having the best looking car. That is where I look at the Rapid. The car is still not out on the market but it is good looking though. If I had a few million dollars to spend this is what I would get.

Spending a few million on a car is stupid and a waste of resources. But who cares, that is for those with $ to decide. It always "trickles down" to the rest of us not lucky enough to be a 1%'er any ways.
