Problem attaching Numbers file to gmail message
My sister is having problems sending a Numbers document to someone via Gmail. When she clicks "attach file" the file is grayed out in the dialog box that comes up. She tried it via Yahoo as well, and the same thing happens. What might be the problem? Other files can be attached, but not this one.

Yep. No matter what it is, it's usually a good idea to zip it.
In case you (or she) didn't know, just right+click the file/folder and choose "Compress..." or "Create archive..." depending on the OS you're running.

Except that some companies are filtering .zip files out of their incoming mail now (a lot of malware uses zip files via email to distribute itself, I guess.)

Saved Numbers (and Pages) documents are "packages" and not a single file.
You can check that by selecting "Show Packages."
A work-a- round is to "print to PDF" and send that.

Re: Problem attaching Numbers file to gmail message
I was sort of thinking that the file was simply incompatible for some reason, but I didn't think about it being a package rather than a file. I'll pass along the info.
Thanks!
