It was an OK game. Certainly didn't live up to the hype.

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed sysreqs released

Likely even less of a game, more of a benchmark- esp. for sysreqs- is FutureMark's game. But it's a space game, so NC'll give it a try. Smaller, too.

FutureMark announces Shattered Horizon system requirements

FutureMark has chosen Windows 7's release day to announce that Shattered Horizon is compatible with Windows 7 (obviously) and the game's system requirements:

Minimum Requirements:
Shattered Horizon requires DirectX 10 on Windows Vista or Windows 7. There is no support for Windows XP or DirectX 9.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 / AMD Athlon64 X2 5600+
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT / ATI Radeon HD 3870
GPU memory: 256MB
Hard disk space: 1.5 GB
RAM: 2GB
Sound: Windows Vista compatible sound card

Recommended Requirements:
Shattered Horizon requires DirectX 10 on Windows Vista or Windows 7. There is no support for Windows XP or DirectX 9.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 / AMD Phenom II X4 940
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 / ATI Radeon HD 4870
GPU memory: 512MB
Hard disk space: 1.5GB
RAM: 2GB
Sound: Windows Vista compatible sound card

Pr0- er, anime, where else? big_smile But this'un's about 22GB smaller... good thing about the 3870, tho. You and sturner are covered.

Man, some demos these days are bigger. Needs more RAM than the install.

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed sysreqs released

Naw, I just forgot, and my original thread was over 2 months old so I didn't go back to it. Aspyr's handling both.

Maybe Apple OpenGL's waiting on new extensions or sumthin'. Who knows? Maybe adding the 'make ice cubes' Force Power's taking longer than expected. cool

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed sysreqs released

My PC HD is pretty much all filled with games. Dumped a lot on it. But the biggest offenders of space hasn't been WoW. Its Steam right now. Thats just Orange Box, Lost Planet, and L4D adding up to 75GB.

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed sysreqs released

23.8GB + 1GB of space required is insane for just 1 game. If it was 1 game + like 2 expansion packs i can see that size as reasonable, but for one game? The developer needs to move away from DVD distribution to usb flash based dongle device things.

Heh, or Blu-Ray lol.

Think i'll prolly just pick up the 360/PS3 version cheap once I see it on a clearance rack for under $15 somewhere.

Why do you hate Aspyr? smile

Console-based games tend to be big.

Well the majority of that bigness also tends to stay on the disc for console based games. PS3 & the 360 only move a tiny fraction of the game, to the internal hd, not the entire disc.

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed sysreqs released

I have 1 PS3 game right now which requires HD installation. Can see why folks get 500GB HDs for their PS3s. If you had to install a lot of games, your space would go fast.

Argue semantics, logic and the way you think it should be all you want, it's more complex than that. And I'm going by what I've observed over the years, not theoretics. If you think it should be smaller, take it up with Aspyr. They're not incompetent; they're likely the best Mac house going.

Perhaps akb25 could shed more light on it for you.
