Re: Graphic Artist Rant II

I saw that story last night and found it strange. I find it even stranger that it was just two coyotes. I assumed it was 4 or more or something.
They say that the coyotes in the East are large compared to Western ones, but the ones I have seen really aren't all that big.

Nasty.

All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me.

Re: Graphic Artist Rant II

The earlier reports seemed to imply more than two coyotes. I'd never heard of Mitchell prior to this, but I'm guessing her body of work, and her death, will now be romanticized and commemorated until we're all sick of hearing about it.

Unless, that is, is folk music fans aren't quite as annoying as rock fanatics.

Oh, yeah: for the record, when I made that snide comment about DJs above, I was specifically not referring to Pariah.

At my part time job, we'll often get people coming in on the weekend that are doing sales presentations for a certain large retail chain with a headquarters about 2 blocks away. Their logo can be made by overlaying three red and white circles. (2 circles if you adjust the strike width.) Their logo's font Helvetic Neue Bold. You can do this in Powerpoint in about 30 seconds.

Their jobs are typically several hundred dollars worth of color copies and binding. Of course, it's umpteen times that in revenue if they make the sale, so they obsess over the presentation until the last minute, then pay us to print it (because as exhorbitant as our prices are, we're the only people who will even attempt to get them done in an hour.)

9 times out of 10, they've pulled the blasted logo from a website (as in not Brandsoftheworld, which is an awesome site) before scaling it 2-300% and slapping it on the front of their presentation, so the first thing their potential buyers/distributors see when they open the booklet is a horrifically mutilated jpeg of their own logo.

God, I hate JPEGs.

And people in corporate sales. (and anybody else who gets cranky when they try to email a 20MB ppt and Outlook chokes.) But that's another story.

Oh, and I hate Outlook. big_smile
