Governator F-Bomb

To the Members of the California State Assembly:

I am returning Assembly Bill 1176 without my signature.

For some time now I have lamented the fact that major issues are overlooked while many
unnecessary bills come to me for consideration. Water reform, prison reform, and health
care are major issues my Administration has brought to the table, but the Legislature just
kicks the can down the alley.

Yet another legislative year has come and gone without the major reforms Californians
overwhelmingly deserve. In light of this, and after careful consideration, I believe it is
unnecessary to sign this measure at this time.

Sincerely,
Arnold Schwarzenegger

Ahahaha, I like it.

I could bore you with a philosophical tirade about freedom and tyranny, or try and explain to you what new horizons are suddenly open to me, but I doubt you would understand and if you did it might frighten you.  That amuses me.

Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.  Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."  They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.

Quite I'm pretty sure it has come up in here at some point that the California constitution makes effective government effectively impossible.

True, but I think he accelerated the process.
I feel for Gray Davis. Yes, he screwed up, but in all honesty - I think he was replaced by someone worse.

My girlfriend is from California, and she does not like Schwarzenegger at all. But, she says he's way better than Gray Davis.

Re: Governator F-Bomb

The biggest problem with Arnie is the same complaint I have with Obama - he refuses to work with the opposition and listen to their concerns and figure out a good compromise.

Sometimes compromise is not an option but the cause of the problems. There is a reason they say something has been compromised.

Mostly she just talked about how much Davis smurfed up. Her mom, a schoolteacher in L.A. county despises Arnie.

Perhaps it would be helpful for her to discover why Davis (got) screwed ("got" in parenthesis because, yes, Davis did do some questionable things but they weren't all under his control). You might mention Enron as a helpful hint.

She mentioned Enron. I'm not claiming to know anything about Gray Davis; just merely pointing out  two people's opinions that I know who have recently lived and currently live in CA. From what they say, CA has been screwed up long before Arnie got there, but neither of them like Arnie at all.

Re: Governator F-Bomb

Davis's big screw up was that he allowed the power companies to manipulate him into committing the state into a long term power contract at a high price just before the price dropped.
