Need Help with Hackintosh Netbook
I have a Dell 2100 which looks to be the same as a Dell 10v (same graphics chip GMA 945 and Atom N270) and I'm trying to install 10.6
I've created an image of my 10.6 DVD on a thumb drive and used the NetbookBootMaker App.
When I boot the Dell from the USB drive I get the gray screen with a bit of a squished Apple logo and spinning wheel below and then the screen goes black.
Now I'm stuck. BIOS is A01 so that should be ok.
Any ideas?

I think you will have to go find one of the OSX86 forums for help on this.
Don't think the admin here allows hackentosh tips.

One of the guys in our iPhone developer's club has a Hackintosh on a high-end
PC notebook and it is awesome. He saved a ton of money over Apple hardware
prices by going the Hackintosh route.

Depends.
you are granted a limited nonexclusive license to install, use and run one (1) copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-branded computer as long as that computer has a properly licensed copy of Mac OS X Leopard already installed on it.
That's from the Snow Leopard Retail EULA. That said, there have been quite a few threads about this stuff. (That's one's kind of a must-read.) We've only really been removing the ones that mention the hacked DVDs, since there are EULA violations, and then there are violations.

Your inability to make it work, and the failure with which was sounds/looks like a video driver issue, may be related to your use of NetbookBootMaker, which incidentally, has been replaced by NetbookInstaller (check out meklort.com). Also, it qualifies as OMGHAX. http://www.insanelymac.com/ has a pretty comprehensive database of supported hardware and how-tos though.

Not really. Just get a bigger notebook.
The netbook is a joke.
My brother-in-law has it and I feel really
sorry for him.
It's the Acer notebook. Yuk!
The keyboard is the size of the hands
of a 10-year-old.
Give me a break.
I have a better shot with my iPhone's
virtual keyboard than my brother-in-law's
reduced-size Acer netbook keyboard.
Truly!

Meh. He's laughing all the way to the bank. Small, cheap computers have their uses.

Yeah, the vibe I've gotten on campus is mixed with the netbooks, maybe half-half. But those that don't like em, the keyboard seems to be the main complaint factor. Sometimes the complaint is about the bundled software.

Well no...
It is a hard ball because this thread is about a hackintosh netbook.
and buying new or different hardware isn't going to help to get OSX on a netbook.

Damn, I guess my comment isn't really relevant either.
