hard drive not showing up
Hi,
I really screwed up my computer, I had messed up my MacOS X system discs
and so I could use the computer temporarily i formatted the hard drive and installed Linux on to it
Now I bought the Mac box set and am ready to install it
However the hard drive is not showing up, or volume whatever it is that needs to be formatted.
What can I do to erase the hard drive when it isn't showing up?
Do I need to take it to a Apple Authorized repair shop?
Thanks,
Brian
PS: If your wandering how I typed this with a out of commision computer, I also have a MacBooK Pro.
PPS: My computer that is messed up is a Intel iMac

Re: hard drive not showing up
If the machine still boots Linux, you know the HD works. That's a good thing.
Boot from the OS X DVD. and launch Disk Utility.

Once you're in Disk Utility, you can use it to repartition the HD to a single partition and format it for the Mac to use again.
