God, for Steve Jobs to actually show a prototype to someone outside of Apple! That must have been a really hard thing for him to do.
What a nice guy.

Re: OMG...it almost made me cry...
Well, they can call Steve as mean as they want, but to have millions of Computer Guys (That isn't a slam, I am a Computer Guy) worship you has to get tiring, but it is good to know his priorities are straight and when it counts he has time...
This was a while ago though wasn't it? At first I thought he did it again, and i was going to say he is a down right Softie
. I think I read about it on As the Apple Turns, just a second, yup here it is: http://www.appleturns.com/episode/?id=2952
I also thought that there was a follow-up, but I can't find it...
Anyway, I'll say that ups Steve's Role-Model-O-Meter rating a few, doesn't it?

Can you imagine Bill Gates doing this? They would probably try to admit him...

I believe the follow-up stated that the boy passed away. ATaT was about a year late on the story, I believe.

Thats what I thought too, but i didn't want to bring down the mood. I remeber it quite well, becuase Jason's family wrote to AtAT to make sure they knew it thrilled him (or them, if he had already passed) that he was mentioned on thier site, and that the family appreciated it. I think it also said Steve kept in touch with him as long as he could...

LOL! I decoded it on that site! Don't get me wrong...I do know binary... but I got fed up with all those special characters (i.e. ":","," and so on...). Anyway, there are some really neat wishes on that site. One guy wanted to meet one of the iron chefs

Damn it Blaze, You got me again! I was about to respond by saying, "Yeah, I remember reading about that quite a while ago." Then I saw the date on the thread.
