Web Editing Software
Well you asked for it and you got it.....Stickies! Due to a glitch in the space time continuem I was unable to do anything in any forum I wasn't "officially" a mod of. The time warp has been rectified....and all is well with the Universe

There is also Pagespinner.
Costs $30. It's not WSYWIG.
I'm partial to it since it's what I learned on.
So, just when did this place get Private Messages? YIKES!

Hydra is a fairly cool cocoa text editor for OSX. It's free, it has syntax coloring for about 15 languages, it has a clean interface, and it allows multiple users to work on singular documents together in real time over the net or Rendezvous (kind of like a simple version of CVS)

Hyrda is probably one of the best replacements for BBEdit Lite...which BareBones software no longer distributes.

I'm going to check out Hydra. Sounds perfect for the work I do.
I prefer to do all my work by hand using pico or nano in Terminal.

WebDesign 2.1 is my current tool. It has good coloring of the code and text, menu layout and guided coding of longer fragment such as tables, embeds and links. So, it's good for beginners who know a little html and are on a budget.

Claris Homepage 3.0 is quite old but still a very nice app: an easy to use WYSIWYG editor, also for the beginner, but it also 'allows' the more advanced user to add stuff that Claris Homepage doesn't know about. Also some very good wizards including wizards for frames and building entire sites. Also great for doing Filemaker stuff on the web!
Not for sale anymore but the demo must be easy to find somewhere on the web for download (30 day trial; after that, just delete the preference file and your 30 days start again

Free: mi seems to satisfy my hand-coding ventures.
Before I switched, I always used Homesite on PC. Isn't that included with the latest Dreameaver?
Glad I came across this in any case. I'll have to try the other free editors.

dreamweaver is a handy tool for when i need to generate some code i cant remember, but for general coding, i use the ultimate free tool. Text edit. especially when you can set the characterset to PC. No more notepad screwing my code format up.

Now let me add SubEthaEdit to the mix. Very good code coloring and it's lightweight and cheap (ie: free).
I've found myself in it more and more for quick editing as I'm able to do pure code editing without GoLive...

I was using WebDesign for a while, but it started to get more unstable over time. Now I'm using TacoHTML, which is pretty feature rich for a free product. It's way better than WebDesign in most regards IMO.

I like HyperEdit (donation) for most editing, and I'd use Dreamweaver if it wasn't so damned spendy. I'm relegated to using Netscrape Composter for a while yet.

well it is the best PHP development enviornment by far. yes it costs $$$, but for hard coding its WELL WORTH IT

Just to let you know, BBEdit just released 7.1 update (free update if you have 7.0.x) It allows you to preview pages directly in BBEdit, using WebKit.
1. Instill fear.
2. ???????? (use your imagination)
3. Profit!
