Can I Join?
I also have some information on servers; we can't get one with ReconGamer (they don't do JK2 -- or any Q3 based game for that matter), but there was one...urgh, Candyman told me what it was called but I keep forgetting...anyway, it would cost about $80/month ish.

Some guys I play RTCW with host from Elucid Systems and are very happy with their service. Not sure why the NJ data center is more than TX, maybe the pings are better?
Ifurita from the RTCW community has also built a nice reference page listing several server companies, although it may take some digging around to get prices together.
I mean, with 12-16 paying members it's like $5 per member which is pretty tolerable right?

Note: The UT division of MA got their monthly bill lowered by mentioning that they were affiliated with the Magazine. Perhaps we could accomplish something like that too...

Type: Private (aka requires password to enter; this might actually be good, keep it to people that we know)
Cost: $64/month
Price Per Player: $4
This provider also has locations in Dallas, as well as far east and far west coast locations. Out of all the people I asked, the Chicago location seemed to perform best on average.

Hmmm, the Elucid pricing seems more pub-friendly. For almost the same amount, you can get a 20-person setup in their NJ location. (26 thru the TX one) As for being private, why not just have a separate config if it ever needs to be closed to the gen pop?
Meh, I guess it'll be decided by whoever's setting the thing up right?

Well, I've just received word that I've been banned from ever joining MA. 
I'd still have no problem organizing and setting up a server, but there are probably a few people who'd squawk if it was labelled the MA server if I was paying for it. Again:
