Dock not responding...
My Dock is not responding to it when I click on an application to launch or to switch to. It does however, bounce when I open an application from the finder. What the **** is going on? I just update to 10.2.5, but don't think that it caused the problem. I tried killing the Dock by either using the killall command or even logging off and logging back on. Neither of these work. Any help is greatly appreciated because I use the Dock a lot, and think its great. Well, thank you in advance.

Re: Dock not responding...
Well, I can't help you with the Dock.
But the program AliasMenu will allow you to make menus separate from the Dock. http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/18163
Keyboard Maestro (a bunch of programs will also) will allow you to change function keys into program launchers.

Re: Dock not responding...
I tried repairing the permissions and even removing the preferences relating to the dock. It hasn't done a thing. I logged in as root and it behaves in the same manner, so i'm thinking its not a pref related thing, and the dock doesn't have a universal preference file... Any other ideas? It seems only not to respond to mouse clicks, if i tab throught the open applications though, it selects them in the dock, open applications still bounce in the dock, i just can't click on them or even get the mouse to bring up the dock when its hiding. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Dock not responding...
As with any OS X update, downloading the Combo Updater and installing it even after you updated through the Software Update system pref fixes a lot of issues.
I would definitely try it.
