Re: How does one play an AVI file in OS X?
Google is not an verb... you can't Google something. You can search for something ON Google.

Re: How does one play an AVI file in OS X?
HEY! Thanks for the link and info on 3ivx! (I love this place)
ALSO: "Just Google It"
Give the person who said "language changes" a cookie!
Google is becoming a verb - among other things - in the same way that Xerox once was. Remember the days when someone would ask you to Xerox something? They weren't referring to the machine itself so much as the act of making a photocopy. Lots of well established brands reach this status. Hell, I don't even know what to call a generic bandaid... Do you think the Puffs people get pissed when you ask for a Kleenex? Ha!
Google as become the defacto search engine. More than that, it has become synonymous with searching in general (on the web).
However, Xerox lost their defacto status when everybody else caught up with them and then surpassed them in the photocopy biz.
I have no idea why I went on that tangent. Sorry
Actually, Xerox worked HARD to try to protect their trademark, and it was largely that effort that decreased the term from being that common. Also, many of us call them Tissues, not Kleenex. Like I said before, I feel that this kind of usage contributes to monopolization by a single brand/company/product.
