well, i had a 2002 Honda Civic EX coupe until I left for college, now my sis gets it for a couple years. it was your typical cheesy rice rocket, with big ass subwoofers and neon lights underneath, etc.

Re: What kind of car do you have?
fits with your name.
But really it doesn't compare to the moron down the street who did that to his car. Day-glo wiper vents, purple glow underneath the car, light-up license plate, the whole thing. Can you guess what kind of car his is?
No, not a civic.
Nor a toyota.
Nor even a Mazda.
It is a Mercedes-Benz SLK Roadster. The "bookshelf" wing is probably the worst part. What kind of dumbass would do that to his Mercedes?

Theres something much worse at my high school. Theres an old miata black with gigantic red flame decals on it. The only mods are a new muffler( its so loud and makes the worst noise) and a K & N air filter. man i bet that thing burns rubber.
I wanted to bring abotu 10 pounds of concrete to school and build a giant speed bump

Re: What kind of car do you have?
This is my car, Subaru Impreza WRX. I'm really really lucky to have it, and I worked extremely hard for a large part of it.
0-60 - 4.5
1/4 - 13.4
and the best part is that it handles like nobodys business, I do pretty well at autocrosses (it's a bit hard because of turbo lag, and the older gen Imprezas usually win)

Re: What kind of car do you have?
hey did they ever make an wrx coupe?
I know there are a few impreza coupes in america but their pretty rare. Those seem like a good car to coup up. Smaller and lighter than the sedan all wheel drive and a 2.5 liter engine. And you know the engine can handle a good sized turbo like the wrx's can

Re: What kind of car do you have?
I don't have my own car, but if I did it would be an electric blue mini cooper s. With white bonnet stripes. Yes.....
My mom has my dad's old civic, but she's getting a new car soon. Hopefully something more like my dad's car now, which is a 2003 5 speed garnet red miata.

They can handle a good size turbo, but not a lot of boost. Around 7 psi is the max if you want a decently reliable car. It ends up slightly faster than a stock WRX, with more torque down low. Almost cost prohibitive though, a WRX motor swap can end up being cheaper. A lot of guys swap in the Legacy 2.2 turbo motor, which is apparently really really stong... 22 psi easily. Those can be fast. When my engine dies (I put a LOT of miles on mine) I'm getting a closed deck 2.4 engine and some giant ass turbo with a front mount intercooler. That should be good for 350 reliable, streetable whp on pump gas with a good tune. Should take me about 5 years to get my car the way I want it. I can wait though, it's so sweet in it's current form.
However if any of you guys are looking for a cheap(er) car to drive around and is still cool, get the RS, it's not played out, is pretty quick, handles well, and looks good to boot. You can get one with low milage for 13-14k.
oh and there was never a WRX coupe. The only one ever made was the 22B, and limited edition WRX STi with the older body style, with wide fenders and a 2.2 liter block, not avalible in the states. It was meant to be a replica of the WRC car which won that year.

Nice car, but please, please be careful in the car. My buddy messed his up pretty bad taking turns too fast and ran off the road. He wasn't going very fast, just stupid. The mustang is unpredictable at the limit, which isn't very high.
I was really close to messing my car up too, I powerslid into a neighborhood in front of an old lady. That was enough to scare me straight, I was a horrible driver then. Make sure you don't have to learn the lesson my friend did. Learn to DRIVE your car WELL. That doesn't mean fast at first, it means know the ins and outs, make sure you can make the car do what you want to at any moment. After my close call I learned how to heel-toe, read the apex of a turn, and squeeze the brake. Now if I want to push it a little I KNOW I'm safe and I have more fun because the driving is much smoother, and smooth can = faster and safer.
Don't wreck your car before you really get to have fun with it. Have most of your fun at the track, where you can really unwind.
Oh an get new gears, it will be a completely new car with them.

Re: What kind of car do you have?

He's probably taking about the rear end gears.
The cadillac I drive has ridiculously tall rear end gears - 2.11:1 (2.11 turns of the input shaft for every one of the output). It gives the caddy a considerably higher economical cruising speed than the 85 that the spedometer reads (inaccurately).
Most "muscle" cars run pretty short gears to give them good speed off the line - my '67 pontiac comes stock with a 12-bolt 3.56 rear end, although there are many other ratios out there, commonly between 3.73 to 4.11. having shorter gears in the rear means that you get to top speed more quickly (although the shorter the gears, the lower the speed).
