sad Apparently I cannot join clan MA. I am told by my fellow NOMAD clan members (all of whom are rather hardcore gamers 'cept me) that dual clan membership is emphatically and in no uncertain terms not allowed. Does is matter that I am Supreme Chieftain of Clan NOMAD? Apparently not. Mutiny would be sure to follow.
So, as Supreme DooDah of Clan NOMAD and official envoy, I hereby request that formal relations between clan MA and NOMAD be opened, that both Clans recognize the other as friendlies (except of course when sabering each others guts out), and that we be allowed to conduct training operations together.
In other words... can I still play with you guys? big_smile

Seems kind of blown out of proportion.

Do it anyways big_smile . Just dont tell everybody wink . We got some other ppl around here that are in other clans. Some of which youd never know till youd actually catch them. Kinda get the feeling thats why its sometimes a ghost town in MA is cause ppl are in with other gaming groups on the side.

I could join more than one anytime but im actually too lazy to do it big_smile .

Well, actually...according to [MA] clan rules, you can't have dual membership, anyway. There is a clause about not being a member of another clan that plays the same game/s as [MA]. But you're always welcome to come and play with or against us.

I joined {MAC} a month or two ago...they're a Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force clan (a game which is currently not on the [MA] list). I'm only {MAC} as far as STV:EF goes, and I've made it very clear to them that that's the case, and they're cool with it so far (so is [MA]). We have established a friendly relationship as a result of it, and I have encouraged any and all of {MAC}'s membership to feel free to come by and enjoy our forums and resources (servers, IRC channels, etc.) as much as they would like...the only catch is, they're subject to the same code of conduct that we expect from [MA]'s own members. Overall, it's a win-win for everyone.

So, just because you can't be "official" [MA] doesn't mean you can't be a member of the [MA] gaming community. After all, we have dozens of former "official" [MA] members who still hang around like this place is "home" (and we wouldn't have it any other way...it wouldn't be [MA] without them). wink

I'd love to play with you guys. (Whenever that may happen.) As far as doing it and not telling, many of the other clan members live in my house. eek (I am not only thier Clan chief, I am also father and uncle to some of them)

I read that other thread right after I came home from the trip, and I was pretty exhaused and didnt say anything then, and then I totally forgot to tell you later about the whole duel membership thing

although, I think you are the first offical "friendly" (till we 0wnorz you twisted ) clan wink How many peps you got?

Maybe If we can find an empty room on GR (there is a lot, but we wouldnt have admin access or anything shrug ) we can have us all going at it in a FFA or something wink

NOMADs walk in single file, to hide thier numbers...
Being Nomads, we're a migratory group, hence, we have no home server (which is a nice way of saying we play on other people servers 'cuz we can't afford our own yet.) wink So that would be a great option for us, too.
Currently, we are a small but powerful group of saber swingin' dudes (no policy against dudettes, haven't had any join yet.)
Would be great to FFA or CTF sometime (we'll see who 0wnorz who twisted )

I have been wondering about this clan.
I am a member of OD.
Though OD has over 200 member I am one o few mac users.
I would love to be a part of this clan, however it is lacking.
I think that this clan needs much more structure.
You can look a some of the other clans for inspiration (www.obsidiandragon.net)(actualy we just changed server, but everything should be back up soon)
Second, everyone needs training, and I think that a training alliance with the NOMAD clan could be an excellent oppertunity to learn the ways of more seasoned players such as the member of other competative clans.
Third, there should always be a hq server, which can be passworded so as to have meetings adn master/padawan training.
I would very much like to be a part of a competative mac oriented JK2 clan.
Clan MA should be the answere

This thing only started up recently and most of the ppl in it are dealing with the end of school right now. So give it a few weeks and activity should be getting better around here. Just dont look for it being able to compete with a 200+ member clan right away.

Your idea about training/etc has been brought up to chewie already. Well not the joining with Nomad bit, but the idea of padawans and Jedi Knights or Master levels in the structure of the division. But again, theres a lot of stuff happening in ppl's lives right now, so once summer starts everyone will be around more.

the problem now with getting a server is funding it. id rather not get an 8 person server, because thats really limiting on larger events. one of the things ive been waiting for kind of is talk of a whole [MA] thing server group thing weve been talking about in the officers forums, although that hasnt been moving too quickly, so Well quite possibly get a server just for us some time soon. We have been having lots of smaller individual matches as people see each other online, or if we plan some weekend thing in GameRanger. Its kind of hard to schedule a practice when we dont know where to meet. Anyways, as NC said, we are finishing up school now. I feel really bad about how weve had people sign up to play, but dont really come back. sad That I blame myself for. This clan got started a week and a half before I left for Hawaii at the beginning of my spring break, and as soon as I came back, It was uber crazy insane study time for my 5 ap tests (and my 4 non AP classes still giving me stuff to do, along with the job I have so I can pay for the stuff I do, plus my other extracirricular activities (including band and MESA), and church and massive family committments), it was a buisy time for me, and my schedule is very "unreliable" (i know what it is, but its not the same week to week). Now that its summer, and I wont be having to worry about high school (after friday when i graduate) , it will be easier to plan stuff. I personally really look foward to getting a server, because its a lot of fun playing with these guys, it would just help to have a bit more money (but its not impossible with what we have now)

Anyways. Im glad that you found us and have some intrest. I hope we are able to grow to meet your (and the rest of our) expectations smile (soon big_smile )

First of all I would like to congratulate you on your graduation, and an amazing spring break (i assume).
Please dont take my suggestions the wrong way. I am very excited of the fact that there is a mac only clan. I am just speaking from the perspectve of being a part of a very large clan. However, I would like to see this clan become something that could compete with clans of OD's size , and I believe that the key to this is loyalty. The members of a clan need to be able to feel secure and proud.

Security and Pride=Loyalty
It is a very difficult task, building a clan, but the mac community is very clanlike allready so it is a great draw for new members.

First of all I would like to congratulate you on your graduation, and an amazing spring break (i assume).

hehe, my graduation practice starts in 45 mins, and my actual graduation is tonight. its going to have been the 4th graduation ive been to in 4 days. lol

The last two weeks have been incredibly buisy, but Im really looking foward to the summer, and Im also hoping that at my lan party I can show some of the people the beauty of JKII, and convert them to the ways of the lightsaber wink .

Just curious, if you guys have such a huge clan, where do you guys get your server(s) hosted, and how many people can it/they handle? What is your leadership structure like/etc.

Well, I believe that three of our members host there own game server and these are dedicated 24/7 servers. Our leader is very genorous and he pays for the webssight hosting himself.

I believe that the game servers can handle 8-10 people, but i dont think that our HQ game server has a limit that low.
