Mac OS X (and Linux) participation. Shocking!
Hi,
Check out the stats below. There used to be over ten times as many Mac OS X (and about 4 times as many Linux) users. I can hardly believe there is just 237 Mac OS X computers working. Perhaps we should check this out, and check here and with other Mac groups how many Mac OS X computers are contributing.
Bye for now,
Bert
OS type Active Total
Windows 85246 362789
Mac OS X 237 21241
Linux 882 29576
Total 86365 413606

That's hard to believe.
If that is correct, my 3 OS X computers account for over 1% of the total Mac users.

Hard to believe indeed. I fold under the name of a friend who has 2 old G4 computers running. So, the three of us already have 6 out of 237 is 2.5%!
Bye for now,

That is strange.
FWIW, my folding stats page
http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/use … p;s=prefix
does not have info on active processors or last WU submitted.
I don't know if there's any connection.

I actually went to look at your Stats page a few days ago and saw the same thing. I thought that I was only allowed to look at mine, and that is why yours didn't show up.
You must be using some of those "virtual computers"

The stats pages are a bit wonky.
Here are my stats linked off the MacAddict4Life team stats page. Shows 0 processors.
Here are my correct stats. I don't remember where I found this link, but fortunately, I saved it.

http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/searchstats
This is the link to the correct personal
statistics for any FAH participant
direct from the Stanford servers
OS stats are at
http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/osstats
but these numbers can't possibly be right... :?:

Playing around on a blustery Sunday afternoon
If you type in the full email address it will give you the full list of processors, etc. If you type only the username without email it gives you an abbreviated version.

Well 3 days later I'll chime in
.....it could very well be correct.
If my assumptions are right active processors are considered active if they return results during any given week.
With all the huge units hanging out there...it's quite possible that a large number of machines are crunching on units that can take as long as a month or longer to finish....
Makes sense to me
