I think stating there is no such thing as race is an over-reaction to the xenophobia present in today's society. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging that different people have different racial backgrounds, I think to ignore that is almost as silly as discriminating on a racial basis.
It's like mentioning race is anethema today.

i've never understood the whole idea of being proud of your race.
its the one thing in your life you have absolutely no power over, sort of like being proud of your arm.

i mean its nice having two arms, but there arent often two armed olympics or parades..

but oddly i you dont have two arms, there are olympics and parades.

And I find no problems with interracial dating.  One of the most attractive (and unfortunately the most psychotic) girls I dated was from India.  I've dated white girls, hispanic girls, no problems.  People are people, and if anything it's let me experience all different sorts of beauty.

Even so, the "patriotism" that has been going around lately disturbs me.

I find liking the country you live in acceptable. Young Americans who constantly bash America and act like it's the only nation that has problems really annoy me. But so do the people who believe it's the only nation of worth, and that all the other ones are third world by default.

I think both sides of that coin deserve to be thrown in a vat of liquid metal (it is hot, right? Like in T2?).
