Need help using Folding V3.12 & CronniX V1.5.1
Does anyone know how to use Cronnix to set up Console version 3.12 of Folding so that it will run as long as computer is turned on regardless of which user is logged in or no one logged in? I'm running OS X 10.2.3
I recently installed a new hard drive as boot drive and had to reinstall all my apps. Somehow I've misplaced instructions I got from this forum quite a while ago. I'm not a "Unix Geek", but, can follow a logical set of instructions.
Thanks

You're not the only one. I need help with exactly the same thing. Anyone?

Re: Need help using Folding V3.12 & CronniX V1.5.1
At one time (before Jaguar) I ran folding with cron via Folding Control, but now here's what I do:
1) Open Terminal
2) Drag OSX-3.12 to the Terminal
3) Bring Terminal to the front
4) Press & and [enter]
Now, when you quit the Terminal and logout, Folding will continue to run.
The only problem here is that I have yet to figure out how to create a startup item for this action, so I manually have to start folding after bootup (as rare as it is).

Thanks, Artemis for the tip. I'll use this method until I can figure out how to use cron. Cron worked beautifully for me before. As I get time during the holidays, I'll work on it.

Re: Need help using Folding V3.12 & CronniX V1.5.1
I've tried since reading this post and I can no longer get it to work for some reason. The shellscript that ResEdit had written worked right up until Jaguar, then the shellscript quit working along with Folding Control.
I do it the same way Artemis does ....on the machines I have left anyway.
I lost a bunch of machines at work:( I'm kinda bummed about that.

I just leave the terminal running asap. My family restarts and smurfs up this computer to much for me to have to open folding every startup.

We can still say smurfs.
