Those things create the friction, which create the sparks, which creates the energy that makes the world go 'round.
Sure, you could hate one or two of 'em, but without all of them we'd cease to exist as human beings. I know, I'm not a John Lennon "Imagine" type. I'm sorry.
But I do think it's funny that you hate the things that involve hate. I don't like throwing over-used words around, but isn't that a paradox?

Thats a pretty smurfing pathetic outlook Jon.
You think that "friction" is what makes the world "go 'round"? That is what is called a copout. Hate, and ignorance, and "friction" are smurfing easy. It doesn't take smurf to do any of that. Nothing has everybeen made from those, they only have the abilty to destroy.
You might mean the rebuilding that happens after (i.e. the rebuilding of a black church that was bombed by some racist white guys) then you are an smurf.
Do I think its "funny that I hate things that involve hate", no. I think its right to stand up the "things that involve hate".
Sorry that the things in life that get to me are not some petty bullsmurf (my teacher was mean to me, my mommy wouldn't by me the car I wanted, i hate everyone because I have no concept of how lucky I am).
I'm sorry, I'll try to be more pathetic.

I wouldn't think of it as a paradox so much as irony. Someone hates things based on hate. Kinda like hating hate...

Re: what makes you
It's like when people get high for the first time and think they come up with some brilliant insight, ie. the classic "what if MY blue is different from YOUR blue? Like, if the sky is blue for me, but you'd call it green if you saw it the way I do?"
For that matter, people who think they do their best when high on (IYFIDH) really irritate me. Like the guy in my class who won first place in the city-wide poetry contest when on pot and codeine simultaneously. The poem itself was crap. I could write better in my sleep. In fact, I'll bet I do, then someone steals them and makes a killing selling anthologies of anonymous poetry.

Re: what makes you
I play pool best when I've had about 4-6 beers. Is that kinda like what you're talkin about? I've run tables while a little sloshed yet suck horridly when I'm sober.

Re: what makes you
Depends. If 4-6 beers allows you to concentrate better (you alcoholic, you) then whatever. But if you shoot better when completely drunk/stoned/otherwise, and incapable of coherent thought, then I hate you
But really what I hate is people whio think they're better when drunk, or write something when high then (when sober*) treat it as the greatest thing they've ever written - and it sucks balls.
* I use drunk/sober for alcohol, and stoned/sober for more clandestine drugs - illegal or otherwise. IE. pot, shrooms, etc. What is the official opposite of stoned? I don't think it is sober.

{cracks knuckles}
See? My post sparked a reaction from you. It caused you to put fingers to keyboard and type out a response.
Friction between two bodies always create something else.
A sperm and an egg create life.
A man and a woman create romance.
A Mac vs. PC debate spurs MacEvangelists who become more intelligent, who go out into the world create more people in tune with what's out there.
And here's an example through your biggie: A predominately black church may be burnt down by idiotic KKK wannabes, but the few white folk out there that aren't so bad will rush to the assistance of those who were just attacked; thereby creating bonds of friendship that otherwise never may have become realized.
Don't get me wrong... hate is not "good", but it can be used as a catalyst to do good. You're only looking at the deed; not the result.
Hate is a natural human emotion that MUST be suppressed, but it's hard, as you've pointed out with your post, which is "smurfing" oozing with hate.
And I take extreme offense to this:
Sorry that the things in life that get to me are not some petty bullsmurf (my teacher was mean to me, my mommy wouldn't by me the car I wanted, i hate everyone because I have no concept of how lucky I am).
I'm sorry, I'll try to be more pathetic.
You have no idea what kind of life people live. Your passing judgement just UTTERLY PROVES what I said in the first place.
YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S BEING A HATER.
I'll bet there's a LOT of people in your life that have it a lot worse of than you do, but you don't know it because they hide it so well. If so, then I'm amazed that none of them have tried to kill you yet because of your bullsmurf.

I'd learn to type before attacking the very people who can express an idea better than you can.
Then again, I'm 19, so maybe I shouldn't take offense to that.
And if it's not an attack aimed towards me at all, then you should really do anything you can to seperate ideas. Bad things happen when you don't. =\

So, LKS, was that the best "philosophical" comment you could come up with? I can't wait for "what is the sound of one hand clapping?".
Let's have a sophists' debate! 10 points to anyone who knows what that means! (I'm counting on you, Jon...)
A sperm and an egg create life.
A man and a woman create romance.
well, in the 1500s it was believed that a sperm and a cucumber could create life. Also that rage turned into rats and meat turned into maggots. People must have been stupid. Didn't they ever see baby rats? Or contemplate a human birth?
also, here's an interesting thing:
Smart Man + Smart Woman = Romance
Smart man + dumb woman = pregnancy
Dumb man + smart woman = affair
dumb man + dumb woman = marriage
except in extreme cases, it's usually true. Sad, but true.

By the way, why do you live in smurf, TN?

I also hate it when people do things just to get people angry or to see a reaction. It doesn't make you special at all. I wasn't refering to you when I mentioned the " If you could what would you do differently?" question. But if you took offense at that then i guess it did apply to you. Kakarotto was right that was ironic not a paradox

Well, you analysed my motives pretty quickly. Not that it was hard to guess them - they were blatantly insulting.
It doesn't make you special at all
Um...the idea wasn't to make myself seem special. As you so nicely pointed out in your first statement, the idea was to provoke a reaction from you. Please don't contradict yourself.
Amatuer philisophers use almost meaningless gernaric pharses to avoid really answering a question.
Pardon, but this seems to be exactly what you are doing. Using an almost meaningless phrase not to answer a question, but to attempt to save face. The "amatuer [sic]...meaningless gernaric [sic] pharse [sic]" follows:
ok echoboom heres one you might get. this is following the lines of your other sayings.
Dolphins are the IB kids of the ocean. Everyone thinks their smart but they still get caught in tuna nets.
Which comments? I don't use trite analogies like that (or is it a simile?)
If you want me to interpret it...
It's really a very uncreative way of dressing up the simple statement that "no one ever got off on account of their intelligence". There have probably been a dozen variations of that statement - I'd hazard a guess that you can look them up in a dictionary of colloquialisms.
If you're attempting to comment on the fact that I'm an IB student, it becomes a little more insightful through your assumption that I see myself as more intelligent than the rest of you, and therefore post seemingly incomprehensible comments (which you then attempt to shoot down - unsuccessfully, I might add). You then go on to make a point that I am, in fact, no better than the rest of you, by using a tone that insidiously chides the subject.
But I don't believe that you could have come up with all that, considering the errors you make in sentence structure ("following the lines of...") and grammar (everyone thinks their [possessive] smart...).
Happy now?
Don't push me any further.
Oh, and just an edit note: It's better to avoid errors in your text before you decide to flame someone. Otherwise it just becomes ammo for the person you're flaming. At the very least you could press command-; in Safari to check the spelling.

Re: what makes you
um ok I wasn't refering to you when I wrote most of that. and the last statement was a joke making fun of some of other peoples quotes and how you asked me for something I had made up.
However i feel obligated to say that its laughable to say "don't push me anymore" in an online forum.

Okay, here goes:
A sophist's debate is obviously a debate of great thinkers. One would take this as a compliment. However, you have a section in your post that is outlined as "no sarcasm" thereby implying that everything prior to that outline WAS sarcasm. So, the comment "I'm counting on you, Jon" and everything tied in with it implies that I have no business in a sophist's debate, which is silly because intelligence is relative.
In allegorical terms?
A lion among elephants is one thing.
A lion among zebras? Quite another.

And I agree that it is a bit funny to say "don't push me any further". But that's what happens.

Okay.
It's "smurf, Tennessee" because we're in the smurf of the state. That part's not original, but that covers the "Bum". The "smurf" comes in because about 80% of the residents are promiscuous. Not that there is anything wrong with that under normal circumstances, but skankiness plays into that.
