Actors/Actresses
Do you have any favorites, and would you see something just because they're in it?
The only actor that stands out in my mind is Hugh Jackman. I would probably see anything he's in. The actresses that i like and tend to like the movies that they're in are Ashley Judd, Angelina Jolie and Julianne Moore. I think all of the above mentioned are underrated.

Philip Seymour Hoffman, William H. Macey, Nicole Kidman. These are the only ones that might be enough to make me see a movie.

Re: Actors/Actresses
Tom Hanks has really become a favorite of mine. Also, after watching the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, I've become a huge fan of Ron Livingston's. I love Kevin Spacey but think he's gotten a little strange lately.
As for actresses, I can't think of many that I really, really like and would pay to see. I do love Judi Dench, though, and I adore Maggie Gyllenthal after seeing Secretary.

wasn't that the only thing he was in?
Whoda thunk? You probably won't be surprised to know i've never heard of all but 2 of those.
Chewie ... i agree about Jodie Foster being a great actress, but i haven't really been impressed with her latest stuff. It isn't that it's not good. Just not my kinda stuff.

Re: Actors/Actresses
Even though I'm not a HUGE fan of his, I see every Robin Williams movie while it's still in theaters.
Someone should start a thread like this, only asking about directors. There are a few directors who's work I never miss.

David Bowie was in Zoolander, although you'd probably be disappointed in the movie if you were seeing it for him.

I've liked every movie I've ever seen Aria Giovanni in.

Re: Actors/Actresses
ONe of my favorite actresses is Jodie Foster (she was the chick from Contact, right?), and the black guy who plays God in the new Jim Carrey movie... I can't think of the name or his name right now...
I'm really bad with names in general, plus it's really late... so... I might have those names for you in the morning...
Morgan Freeman.

Re: Actors/Actresses
The best movie actor of all time, even though he's been dead for over 70 years, is the late Lon Chaney Sr. He's best known for his makeup in roles like the Hunchback of Notre Dame and Phantom of the Opera, but he was at his best without the makeup. Even if you don't like silent movies it's hard not to be fascinated with the way he could convey character with his eyes and facial expressions. He was really amazing.
For modern actors I'm fond of Steve Buscemi and Billy Bob Thorton.
For actresses I like Priscilla Drake, Christina Ricci and Reese Witherspoon back in her indie days.

Funny...I was about to come back here because I forgot Edward Norton.
And did you mean Jordana Brewster?

Re: Actors/Actresses
Is this limited to movie actors, or do TV actors count?
On the tube, my fav is L&O's Jerry Orbach.
On the silver screen, probably Harrison Ford of the current crop.
BTW, the term actress is outdated: they are all actors.

Re: Actors/Actresses
I'm gonna have to go old school on this one.
Actors:
Cary Grant
Jimmy Stewart
Spencer Tracy
Paul Newman
Steve McQueen
Gene Hackman
Sidney Poitier
Actresses:
Ingrid Bergman
Kate Hepburn
Grace Kelley
Sophia Loren
Raquel Welch (hubba hubba)

That's pretty much a hubba hubba list. I might toss in Lee Remick though.
