JK2 Questions
Hey everyone!
I have a couple of questions about JK2 I've always wondered about.
1. How did you like singleplayer? Did you beat it?
2. Does anyone know how I can do command line arguments when starting the game? I've seen instructions for windows and linux, but mac info is very sparse...
3. Any good screenshots? I'd like to see them.
Have a nice day

Re: JK2 Questions
i dont know any command line stuff, but i did beat and enjoy the single player. took me about a week of playing
.
i do know a couple of neat codes that arent really cheats. for instance, there is a code that allows for full body saber dismemberment, but i wont share it here for anyone who dislikes cheating. its on a lot of online sites, but it makes for really awesome screenshots. speakin of which, ill try and take a few for ya, but not now. later.

Yes. The server also must have the skin (I'm pretty sure).

Re: JK2 Questions
Single player was ok, levels were far too long. I know the missions in Dark Forces were not simple 5 min pass jobs either but, sometimes i'd just like to get out of a level. Hated those stinkin mines. Why is it every Dark Forces game has a mines mission. The first one had it, hated it...I hear the 2nd one had it...now this 3rd one has it. What is this gross facination with mining?!?!
Course I liked Red Faction and that was a miner game, but then the designers at least put a lot of variation into it so you would never spend too long in a mine section to the point you got bored. That and if you got bored you could blow up the walls and find your own routes
.
I got a blood mod for JKII, but I wish the saber would cut off more than just the hands or arms/etc. I slash gut and instead I take an arm, guess the troopers got a stronger gut than an arm.
Yeah, server needs skins too. Dont know if it works the other way around.

Re: JK2 Questions
hey NC: to enable full body dismemberment:
in the console, type devmapall
then type g_saberrealisticcombat 1
now you can cut torsoes in half, cut off heads, arms, legs, wrists, and feet.
have fun!!!

Re: JK2 Questions
Yeah, I have the cg_dismemberment 3 in my config. Only works if the server you're playingon has it enabled too, but pretty wicked fun!

Re: JK2 Questions
You can use values from 1 to 20, I think they define sensitivity. At 20 you just touch your enemies idly and they fall apart.

Hehe... the Gromas mines, where you had to find the phrik metal, and face off with your first dark trooper
Also, another good code is playing around with super mind trick, where you can control your enemies, then you can make them shoot others, or jump off cliffs...
I can't think of any other good codes off the top of my head.

Damn, knew I'd get it wrong trying to post from memory! It's g_dismember "3", not sure if a higher value does anything though.

Re: JK2 Questions
according to flying ninja different values raise or lower sensitivity, but i dont really like it when the game gets absurdly easy. i do like cutting off more than just arms and wrists though.
on a related note, i think it would have been cool if JKII had had the auto-skill-adjust tech that was in Max Payne. that made Payne much more enjoyable. always a challenge, but never unplayable.

I used the Indiana Jones skin today, and it didn't unexpectedly quit on me as it usually does.... maybe they just saw me as Kyle or they saw me. Im guessing that either the server was using that skin, or there was a glitch.

Re: JK2 Questions
If the server doesnt have it, your skin will revert to Kyle. Least thats what happened with mine. Could be your 128MB of RAM that is crashing it. Sure its enough but really it probably could use more cause its gotta load extra if there is custom skins.

Re: JK2 Questions
Hey the love story was better than Attack of the Clones....now that one just was painful to watch
.
Only bad bits of JKII's love story was parts of the script. Think they could have written it better.

Re: JK2 Questions
I think it would've helped to have played the 2nd game in the series.
My PC friend has that game, I remember some of the story. Something about Kyle learns father dies b/c of dark jedis. Kyle learns to be a jedi. Kyle fights dark jedis. Kyle goes to valley of the jedi. Kyle fights more dark jedis. Kyle goes to dark side or light side depending on the way you played the game. In dark side, kyle kills jan and later jarec and becomes a new emperor. In light side, kyle kills more dark jedi including jarec and saves the valley of the jedi.
So that's about as much as I remember. I like how it had live action cut scenes though.
Mysteries of the Sith was weird. Kyle as a jedi is training Mara Jade. Kyle's base is under attack by imperial asteroid ships. Kyle goes and kicks ass, and destroys imperial asteroid ships. Kyle later finds out about a sith temple, and decides to investigate. From then on you play as mara jade. I can't remember much else, except that you have to confront Kyle who is possessed by the dark side at the end, and you save him or something.
So I know some story! And now you do too!
If you really want to know what happened, the full story is probably on the net somewhere.
Ok, I'm really tired now, that's probably why I was so incoherent. Good night.
