What's the name of your iBook and what sex is it?
My iBook's name is "The Collective" and I usually refere to it as an he or him when I'm upset it becomes an "it"

"Rob's Snowlake," with my iMac DV SE (2000) as "Rob's Snowball."
My iMac is a he, and my iBook is typically a she. And I do refer to it as an it when I'm mad at it.

My iBook is SnugglesII, My PB 3400 is Snuggles...named after my dog! My eMac is Ginger, named after my other dog....both are female by the way.

I never got into personally naming a Hard Drive, although I think i'm just obsessing about having a really cool one that I like.
for now my iBook is "iBook" and my iPod is "iPod"

I used to think the same, till I moved to X, partitioned my hard drive into three pieces, and acquired a Powerbook 3400. Then the naming of computers, not hard drives, took on new meaning.
My iMac is Lifeline, my Powerbook Release and tomorrow I'll be getting Silence. None of them has gender, they are all Whole.

simple..? in italian it's "il computer" = male and in spanish "la computadora" = female etc.. so depends on what lang u use it..? nah just decide!!! i jsut spend so much time with him that it has to be male!!

Mine is "Blinky" named after the 3 eyed fish from the simpsons, as far as gender its a touch call. I just call it my baby or when talking to my mom its my iBook bc she is now the owner of my old tangerine, whose name was "Lenny" and my iMac used to be "Howie"

Before joining the Mac world, I told myself that I would name whichever Mac I did end up getting.
Well, 11 months and 3 machines later (Two of them iBooks), I have still not been able to come up with a name for any of them. The only one that ever sticks is the one I used for my iBook 500 and this 700... "The Whitestar" or just "Whitestar, referring to the class of ship from Babylon 5.

Snowy -my sweetie- is my first laptop-and first HD I have"personally" named is very feminine. Others were partioned, named for function like "OS 8.6<sic>", "applications",and "data": my teenyibook is lke a pal and a name worthy of her cuteness. (Oh yes T-Bird is a Titanium I also care for and is male!)
